Turned up without a booking to find all space taken, but was still made welcome and a space found in the bar for us by Rachael. She was superb and even though very busy, took time to welcome us and even find room for a large booking on December 3rd. Cannot praise her highly enough. Food was first class and hot. Excellent staff all smiling and cheerful, excellent atmosphere, excellent food.

The nailers arms is one of those pubs you could spend all day chilling out with a few beers. The carvery is second to none and 100 times better any Toby house could muster. The staff are excellent with a nothings to much trouble attitude which is great as being in the trade myself sometimes get missed along the way. This place is a must on any list of places to visit

Down from Scotland visiting my husband's 91 year old grandad. He recommended the nailers arms. We all had something different. We could not fault the service or food! I had the "small" fish....it was massive! Would definitely recommend! The staff were all lovely and helpful. Thank you.

Excellent lunchtime, family carvery yesterday at The Nailors Arms for 19. Everyone agreed the food was lovely, lots of tender meat and a great choice of vegetables. What a fabulous evening our family had at the Nailers. I'm a vegan, but after a phone call from the restaurant a superb meal was produced, with the best stuffed peppers I have ever tasted. Service was excellent and the ambiance is very good with a very light, clean feel about it. The veggies and meat eaters in our group also enjoyed some superb fayre. 11/10 from us.

I called the day before to make a midweek lunch booking as the online booking system told me that there was no availability. The very nice woman I spoke to on the phone was able to squeeze us in and I'm very glad that she did as the carvery was wonderful! I will definitely be visiting again.

Had lunch with two friends. The service was excellent. Drinks good. We didn't have the carvery but opted for meals off the menu. They were acceptable but not outstanding and reasonably priced. We felt very comfortable in the lounge. Good parking facilities and clean toilets. Overall an enjoyable meal out.

Tonight we visited the Nailers Arms for the first time to enjoy a family meal for a birthday celebration. We were very impressed especially with Callum who served us for the duration of our time there. He was very friendly, efficient, accommodating and helpful an absolute credit to the pub. The cravery was delicious and reasonably priced. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely setting for this pub / restaurant with easy access from local towns. Majority of building is dedicated to food with a large carvery section. All decorated well with pleasant surroundings. Some tables are a little cramped with not enough space between diners so you have to alternate eating ! From my experience, the bar staff favoured the ‘regulars’ and overlooked our party on several occasions when waiting for drinks. Food was superb and can not fault this at all. Highly recommend.

Took my my husband today out for a date after a recommendation from a work colleague. We were so impressed with the quality and variety of the foods available on the carvery. We also enjoyed a bottle of rose zinfandel to complement the meal reasonable priced. Great staff. Thank you so much. Will come again

The carvery is fabulous and the staff are very friendly. We have been served twice by Leah and she is a great waitress. My father has dementia and she was really good with him, attentive to our party and very friendly.

The waitress was outstanding. The food was excellent. Unfortunately for us, the table next to us wanted everyone to hear their conversation . Listening to someone talk abt their surgery experience wasn't what I want whilst eating my tea. This obviously this is not the fault of the pub

Went here for the first time today as it was recommended to us by a family member. The staff were so very friendly and helpful. Drinks arrived quickly. The food ... We all had homemade braised beef and onion pie, chips and peas ....was absolutely amazing. Huge chunks of meat and a tasty gravy. The pie filling filled the deep dish and the light puff pastry topping was the best. Chips were gorgeous too, nice and crisp on the outside whilst being fluffy in the middle . A separate, huge, pot of gravy was also served with the meal . There is a restaurant area which I would recommend you book for or the pub side, where meals are also served. We chose from the pub classics menu but they also do a carvery .We complimented the staff as we were leaving with a promise that we would be going back ... And we will ...

Myself and a group of friends recently visited the Nailers, for the umpteenth time This tells you that we love the place, food and service We always have the carvery as it's soooo good The service is terrific also, and the prices are very fair One of the main reasons for the visit was to take family members from St Albans for an evening out Sufficient to say that they were impressed, which was great All in all , highly recommended
