First time visiting The Crown and I would definitely return. The service was so helpful and friendly. It’s a really lovely building - beautiful interiors and the garden looked nice too. Everything I ate was tasty. The music was good. I like that it’s dog friendly (a bold cat walked in at the end of the night too!) and the selection of food (lots of veggie and vegan options) and drinks was wide and great value. Really good job!

Really great pub. Plenty of beer on offer, keg and cask, and a good range. The bar staff were great and the wait staff were superb. The food was so tasty, had the katsu balls, the lamb and the sticky toffee pudding. All delicious! Prices are pretty reasonable too.

When I visited it was quiet (Tuesday evening) so plenty of seats to choose from. Nice outside seating area which was what drew me in to visit. Didn't order food, but menu seemed in line with other pub offerings. Didn't host traditional beers on tap but had other offerings. Good wine must and cocktail offerings too.

Really nice pub. We enjoyed our meal here. The food was great and served in a decent wait time. Both main and dessert was lovely and we enjoyed our drinks selection. Beautiful decor and interiors to the pub.

Excellent local pub with friendly staff. Traditional but refreshed decor. An abundance of seating indoors and outdoors. Great Sunday roast, with all the trimmings.

We finally got a chance to come here for a meal and I can safely say we will be coming again! The chips were perfectly crisp but fluffy on the inside; both the chicken schnitzel and buttermilk burger were succulent and thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were friendly and inviting (next time we’ll bring the dog to add to the wall of doggy Polaroids) Our only complaint was the prices, £15 for a chicken burger and chips (although delicious) seems quite high, especially for a pub setting.

A lovely pub to go. Great friendly staff. Wide range of drink. Nicely decorated inside. Outside, there is a beautiful garden with plenty seats but not on top of each other. Also has a food shack outside with a delicious menu. Truly recommended. My new local!

Booked a table to go with my family and children for dinner on a Saturday at 5.45pm to avoid any large crowds and the place was very loud upon arrival as the rugby was on. Had heard good things about this place so we wanted to try it out. It was a good atmosphere if you don’t mind a bit of noise and sports. The food was delicious but I have to knock 1 star off as there was a drunk man on our table who wouldn’t leave and was a bit intimidating. He was talking to my children and even trying to grab my baby’s hand. The staff didn’t bother in asking him to leave our table and he only left after about 30mins because he had to go home. That was the only let down of the evening.

Edit August 2022 - five stars. I have visited the pub 6 times and have found the service and food pretty consistent, from the first day of opening to some of their most busiest times in the evenings and sunny days. They do roast dinners very well, the condiments are as good as the food and I suspect they are freshly made on site - horseradish had enough burn, mint sauce tastes fresh etc. There is a good selection of draught, as well as soft drinks. The luscombe brand is well worth trying as a non-alcoholic drink. Soda water is also available by the pint which is good to see. As a vegetarian option (can't remember if they are vegan), the allotment salad is tasty and available as main or small plate. I have had it twice and the leaves have always been fresh. If you don't like much dressing I'd recommend asking for it on the side, however it is the right amount for me. I did prefer the salad to the veggie haggis pie as I felt the flavours didn't blend as well with the rest of the filling. If you enjoy meat options, I would definitely recommend the chicken pie as a hearty option. A nice salad option would be the sticky beef salad, although I would recommend taking it as a smaller portion than the large main. The steak frites was delicious, very well cooked, a tasty steak and you definitely can taste is a higher quality cut. If it is a Sunday, definitely try out the roast dinners, you won't be disappointed. I have tried two of the desserts, a morello cherry sundae (with popping candy) and the dairy free Belgium waffle dessert. I think that both were equally good. The cocktails are great, I also enjoy the hot drinks too. If you are looking to visit in busier times, I would definitely recommend booking. The managers and staff are friendly and hardworking, this pub is definitely a welcome treat for the local area. I'd say, to get this review to 5 stars, it will just come with time as we know the hospitality industry in under pressure and novice staff are undergoing training, which can be more complex than it looks.

A recently refurbed family and dog friendly pub. We went on a Sunday: be aware tables get booked up in advance! If there's a tile on the table with a name on-it's reserved. There are some 'drinks' tables but it gets busy quite quickly- we arrived 12ish people were just starting to arrive. Libby at the bar gave us a warm friendly welcome. Our group were deaf: she was clear and easy to understand and looked directly at us making communication easy. Thank you! Some of the male staff were challenging to understand and not very deaf aware sadly. The Crown is a relaxed mix of traditional and eclectic, loved the dark tones of the conservatory... See photos 👍 Access for wheelchairs needs to be via the front door small lip to get in. I didn't see the disabled toilet though... Doors to rest rooms are quite narrow. Baby change was in a toilet cubicle (in ladies- can't comment on gents loos! 🤭) Food menu was left at the tables, and was ordered via the bar at till. Not a massive range but we loved the Lamb Shank, Sea Bass and Burger. Crumble was nice but... People said it needed a bit more depth of fruit as v shallow dish. Dogs love it (forgot to snap the treats! 3 glass jars!) water bowls available and Paw Hall of fame by bar. We stayed ages as a lovely relaxed vibe. We'll be back as we can have a drink and waddle home afterwards - Brill!👍😁

Beautiful, huge beer garden with pizza vending kiosk. Friendly service, amazing flavoured beer from micro breweries. Not cheap, but really excellent. I didnt have any food so can't comment on the quality.

In the last 12 month or so from coming here regularly, we have always experienced great food, great atmosphere, great drinks. On one occasion they had a DJ with excessively loud music, but it seems that they've now stopped those based on all the complaints. This summer they added pizza to their selection on some days and they are excellent. We highly recommend this place.

Extremely friendly staff, great atmosphere, delicious food. During sunny days, you must sit in the garden, it is amazing! There is a new addition to the pub's menu, now you can buy freshly prepared and full of flavour pizzas from the hut located in the beer garden. You can also get your drinks there, so there is no need to go back inside.

Great food and drinks, staff always friendly. The food does feel expensive (especially as we went on a dead Tuesday night), but it was quality and I suppose that's the cost of living nowadays so can't really blame the pub.
