Reviews The Railway Tavern

OK OK, so this is technically a pub. But it is my favourite local pub, and I’m biased, so I decided it deserves a mention because the food is great. The Railway Tavern is on the corner of East Street opposite Bromley North Station – on the very edge of what has recently been coined ‘Bromley North Village’. It’s an area of bars, restaurants, boutique shops and the obligatory hairdresser or two, and Bromley Council have invested a lot over the last couple of years into making it pretty eclectic (for Bromley!) – the road is actually flat to the pavement to encourage people to wander here and there; there’s new lighting and paving; and all the bars/restaurants on the street are able to put tables outside in the summer to encourage a lovely café culture.

Great roast dinner on a Sunday. A little pricey compared to others in the area but cooked well. Good selection of drinks, has a beer garden, live music on certain nights and good friendly service.

Lovely local pub. On the Main Street and across from the station so can get a bit noisy. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy a beer. Price is normal for the area. Bar staff very friendly and good service

A large somewhat quirky pub with a good atmosphere. Lots of different areas to sit all with their own individual style. Bar staff always friendly, drinks reasonably priced, food OK. Much better place than any of the sterile high street boozers in Bromley.

Met up with my old friend for a few drinks here. Didn't fancy The 'Spoons and it's dodgy atmosphere. Had read good reviews about TRT and wasn't disappointed. Slightly quirky but not unappealing layout. Very buzzy atmosphere. Had a bit of live music plus the rugby on the box. Food being served seemed to go down well from what I could see. They have a great range of drinks including the very appealing Brixton IPA and the bar staff are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. I have lived in Bromley for nearly 20 years and have no idea why I have not visited before. A very worthwhile place to visit, socialise and vibe.

Good pub next to a bunch of busy restaurants.l and also right next to the Bromley Little Theatre. Always busy with a giod selection of drinks. Haven't tried the food but looks good from what I have seen come out. It has a little beer garden at the back which looks like it could be a great suntrap.

Five of us popped in for a quiz night and had a blast. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. William did an amazing job with the quiz and he is very approachable as we are not British and we needed some extra guidance with some of the questions. Definitely recommend.

We were on our way home from London and.. (honestly? needed the toilet so) decided to get off a bus - the best decision we’ve made in ages. We entered: live music, wooden interior, friendly locals, great atmos. Sold. We stayed for one drink which turned into five (is there any better sales pitch for a pub?), sang our hearts out (ESPECIALLY enjoyed the Weezer-meets-Spice Girls songs) and really felt like we’ve found a new local. James is also a great bartender!
