Attractive period vaulted dining room. Modern “gastro pub” menu. Strong starters but the grilled meat for both mains (beef fillet and pork chop) were over cooked. Service was a little slow but overall good.
Starter of Cotswold bread and oil which was lovely. The main meal of lamb was superb, vegetables all beautifully cooked. My son ate the the beef shared platter which was delicious. The atmosphere, service and wonderful historic surroundings were truly excellent. We had noted the varied comments on new menu but I would happily drive an hour to return sooner rather than later
We love this place. Food is great, drinks are great, but Roger the main man made our experience exceptional. He made us feel welcome immediately and helped us decide what food was best for us. We literally sat there soaking up the place while he looked after us, better than we've had in years. We're very grateful to him and will definitely return as long as he is there. Thank you so much Roger.
Finally visited ‘Grill’ restaurant at Lygon Arms and thoroughly impressed with the entire experience (although totally broke as a result!)
Having seen some very mixed reviews from others about James Martin’s new restaurant at Lygon Arms, we were in two minds as to whether to cancel and go elsewhere… thank god we didn’t!
The service was excellent, starters (burrata and aubergines) and steaks (we both had 6oz Fillets) were outstanding - they were cooked to perfection.
We found the red Argentinian Malbec the perfect wine pairing for our mains.
Didn’t have enough room - or money - for desserts… which leads me on to the price.
It is VERY expensive - I appreciate inflation has got pretty steep lately, and James Martin obviously needs his cut for having his name over the door, but almost £200 for bread/olives, 2 starters, 2 steaks, 1 side, and 3 glasses of wine? Given we’re not in central London I must admit I was pretty horrified when I got the bill.
All said and done, it was an amazing meal but I’ll probs need to remortgage ahead of a follow-up visit!
Lovely place, very cosy in a old setting . Open fire which is lovely relaxing, hearing the fire crackle. Good tasting wines with a good selection and friendly staff. Facilities are very nice. Haven’t eaten any main meals so can’t judge, but snacks were nice. Also asked for some mayonnaise with the snacks and they were more than happy to supply. Very slow at giving the bill.

Beautiful place to get a drink and food. Inside or courtyard. Great location! ❤️
Great wine list.
Had a very nice pizzeta here for lunch. The place has a great 'old coach inn' atmosphere, the wine selection is pretty good, but it's a bit expensive.
Wow, what a transformation, the last time I visited the Lygon Arms a few years ago it was dark and depressing. With it's makeover it now looks amazing! A must place to visit.
Many of the photos associated with reviews of the Lygon Wine Bar are in fact pictures of the Lygon Arms Hotel main restaurant. Whilst they are part of the same complex and ownership they are two separate eateries and frankly you won't be disappointed with either of them. As far as the Wine Bar's concerned it has a cosy atmosphere complete with an open fire in the front room coupled with a further seating area in the rear. There isn't a particularly extensive range of food but it offers a varied three course menu and I particularly enjoy the pizzettas. There is, as you would expect, a good choice of wines and although some on here have complained about the prices you should remember you are dining in a premier Cotswold hotel. I think the 500ml carafe of Rioja at £22 is very good value. The staff are attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. The Wine Bar's opening hours vary according to season and day of the week so I recommend you check with them before your visit. Thoroughly recommended, enjoy.
Find a cozy spot and enjoy the table service by the fire.
I popped in to try it out and was glad I did, the food was great (I chose a multitude of small starters rather than a main meal) they have a good list of wines to choose from and I loved the darker than usual lighting in there, the staff were all very polite as you would expect in a place such as this.
Superb food and spot on service. Save room for pud! We booked with some friends for their anniversary, and we all enjoyed it immensely. Might have to go back just to have a scoop of their cherry sorbet.
Lovely coffee bar in Broadway. Great selection of cakes, coffee lovely too.
