Stumbled upon this place last year after my first visit to Broadstairs in years and since then, I have now visited a fair few times. I actually live closer to other beaches and it takes at least an hour to get here, but visiting for the delicious ice creams and slushies are one of the reasons we now often choose Broadstairs on a lovely, sunny day.
The different flavours of scooped ice cream are lovely, but the best has to be the Whippy ice cream- strawberry is definitely the winner! Not to mention the refreshing rainbow slushies. Everything is so cheap too and topped off with friendly service, there is no other place we go to.
Good Magnum, fast and friendly service. Sadly the soft ice wasn't that good and not enough sprinkles were put on it...

Thanks to this fast response and search for improvement, 4 went to 5 stars. I don't exactly know why the soft ice wasn't as good as the last one I had... Could it be the difference between Cadbury and Mr Whippy? (thought they should be similar)
This place does the best slush puppies and ice creams in Broadstairs, great prices and the people who run the shop are such lovely friendly people. We go here all the time.

Friendly helpful staff who solved my problem of buying too many ice creams and having not enough hands! Not to mention the fantastic ice cream flavours on offer and of course the kids favourite whippy ice cream!

Our favourite place to buy ice creams and takeaway hot drinks. I love the whippy ice cream, its thick and creamy, not at all icy and it holds its shape. It also comes in a few different flavours, with or without a flake. My husband is working his way through the vast array of flavours of the scooped ice cream and so far all have been delicious. My great nephew cannot eat dairy products and was delighted to try his 1st non dairy ice cream at York Gate. They had a few flavours to choose from and also advised on a suitable cone. Very helpful and friendly staff in this family run business. We wouldn't go anywhere else in Broadstairs and highly recommend it to all our visiting friends and family.
I have been comming to this ice cream place since my son was about 3 years old! Told family about it to. There such reasonable prices. They always do smaller mr whippy for kids. I think about 1 pound. The staff are so friendly !!! And welcoming
Plus only place in broadstairs that does chocolate mr whippy and strawberry no were eles does. Love this place great memories for my son to 🤩😘
