The food was amazing! I had chicken, gammon and leek pie with veggies and mash. And homemade gravy. It was cooked to perfection. A proper suet pie. Delicious! Family and dog friendly. Overnight stopovers for motorhomes too.

Friendly atmosphere. Good service. They have special nights most evenings. Our night was fish and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a beautiful local but hidden pub. Would definitely recommend.

Popped in for Friday night supper. I had Beef Cobbler which was delicious and my partner had a pasta dish with seafood. The weather allowed us to sit outside in a large beer garden. Would definitely visit again

Excellent food and service, friendly and welcoming. To quote a local "never had a bad meal". Will go again. Nice view from the garden.

Been here a few times and was a bit disappointing. Only 2 meat options available. Beef was great. Turkey wasn't, hadn't been roasted, appeared to be steamed so had a very anaemic appearance and a very wet texture. Yorkshire were excellent. Roasties not very crispy. Parsnips beautiful. Peas , carrot pretty tasteless. Cauliflower cheese looked great but really needed something to lift it. The lack of seasoning is a real issue with all the veg. Pudding no complaints

Excellent lunch in the garden, nice helpful staff and something different from the usual pub grub on the menu. Sunday carvery is also good, best to book for that, 3 meats on offer plus veggie option. May 22 update, another nice lunch, great staff went extra mile to cook scampi even though not on menu that day June 23 back for lunch again, good as ever

Simple, Nice pub lunch! We arrived on our dirt bikes and sat using the benches provided outside. Food was served fresh and in a timely manor. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Very nice atmosphere within the pub. Will be visiting again, hopefully covered in less mud next time!

I ordered a Sunday dinner, chose the roast beef option. Was very pleased with the food and service. However we were a bit jammed where we sat with lots of movement behind us which made it awkward. I would recommend to anyone but would definitely try to get a better table spot.

Beautiful meal from the Christmas menu. Homemade soup was devine and the alternative terrine was popular. Food served quickly to all 6 of the group and plentiful vegetables arrived almost immediately after the roast turkey did, served with all the trimmings. Pudding of cheesecake was a lovely sweet treat. The service was fantastic and we didn't feel pestered or overly bothered by the staff but the attention to detail was very apparent. We will be back again and look forward to the visit.

I visited here for a business lunchtime meeting. We had great pub food and the service was very warm and efficient. The staff knew the menu and were comfortable making recommendations. I had a beef shin pie which was very nice and perfect for a wintery day. I will be back here again!

We went on a nice sunny day so it was great to sit outside in the large garden area. Staff were really friendly. Really good portion sizes and the food was very tasty. There could be more vegetarian options but what they did has was nice

My wife and I have been looking for a local restaurant or pub where we could take our dog with us, rather than leaving him at home each time we dine out. Also, as my wife is a vegetarian, so the restaurant or pub had to provide interesting vegetarian options. And, of course, a good selection of fresh, high quality, 'home cooked' food, was also important. We have now found our pub - it's The Crown at Broad Hinton. A few weeks ago, I booked a table for 11 (family meal), which included several (well behaved) dogs. The pub is a pretty building, situated in lovely, peaceful surroundings, with a large carpark, and a beautiful open garden. Sally greeted us upon arrival. The inside of the pub was lovely, with a homely, restful ambience, and the staff were all very welcoming. We were seated in a quiet area of the pub, which provided space for the dogs to settle down. We were given time to look through the menu and make our selections. A variety of dishes were ordered, and when we finished the whole family praised the dishes they had ordered. I and my sons had Ostrich, was was truly wonderful. Sally also provided a high chair for our grand daughter. We had an evening of merriment and fine dining. A couple of weeks later my wife and I (plus 2 dogs) decided to return for a lunchtime meal, taking a close friend with us. The two ladies really fancied battered halloumi, but this wasn't on the menu - however, I did check with the staff, and much to our surprise, the response was "I'm sure we can accommodate - I'll just check with the chef" And sure enough, they did. The battered halloumi was incredible - not the tiny greasy strips that you get at most pubs, but a really tasty, single, large portion, wonderfully cooked, together with crispy coated, fluffy chips, and a colourful salad - perfect!! I had a beef bourguignon (BB) and mash. The mash was as expected, but the BB was out of this world - tender, fall apart beef, thick and really flavoursome sauce, 2 types of mushroom (I think?) with pearl pickled onions which were a lovely contrast. Probably the tastiest BB I've ever had. We had a wonderful meal, in a wonderful setting, looking out on the green gardens outside, and all of this for just over £40 (inc non alcoholic drinks). Even the dogs got a little treat before leaving - I'm sure they'll want to be back there soon. We're just about to book a table for their Sunday carvery, and really looking forward to this - we're sure it'll be absolutely amazing in every way. As you've no doubt guessed, we all feel that, Sally and Jason's "The Crown" at Broad Hinton, is the most accommodating and tastiest place to eat in our area - it comes very highly recommended !

Gorgeous little country pub. Food is very good! We were greeted by a lovely host in a very Covid savvy environment. There was a slight mix up with our order but this was rectified in minutes! Very efficient. Our sandwiches were superb. Very well filled, super soft bread and a nice side salad 🥗. They had tortilla crisps on the side, personally I think a dip of some sort would have accompanied this well. Been here several times before but usually for a Roast dinner. A weekday lunchtime was still fairly busy so I would recommend booking, at least while restrictions are still in place. Definitely recommend The Crown 👑. I will definitely be back.
