Had to drive from south west Wales to Anglesey and back in the day.
Could smell the food on passing, so on the way back we just called in, on a Saturday night.
The place was busy but didn't have to wait long for a table.
The food was fantastic, large portions, service was good. Really helpful staff. I would go here again
Had an amazing evening meal at the Cross Foxes, the manager was very welcoming and friendly. The bar and restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and we are already considering staying in one of their lovely rooms advertised, for a weekend. We will most definitley be back soon. I am also gluten intolerant and nearly everything on the menu was available as a gluten free option, which is fantastic. Thank you for a lovely evening.
Went for curry night, had the menu for 2 people, absolutely delicious, better than a curry house, worth every penny, staff very friendly and helpful, will be visiting when we’re in Wales again.
Had a fab late Sunday lunch yesterday- excellent attentive staff, melt in the mouth beef & lamb & starters & puds all delicious. Had a meal for Mother’s Day in the Ship in town & it was awful, sent 4 meals back as it was inedible- we shall always come to Cross Foxes in future
Love this place always visit when in area, Sunday lunch this time, all gluten free! Really nice place, food and staff
Lovely meal here yesterday lunchtime. The food was tasty and well presented, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. I especially appreciated the gentleman from Wolverhampton (possibly the manager!) who had learnt to speak Welsh so well! Bravo!
5 of us and 1 dog called for our lunch , wow! Absolutely delicious, Chargrilled minute steak on ciabatta roll with chunky chips and salad . Lovely cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. Can’t wait to come back!
Amazing place to stay. amazing food. Rooms are brill. Friendly staff and always asking if you needing anything . Breakfast was amzing
Excellent Sunday evening meal, I thoroughly recommend the Lamb cutlets, and very reasonably priced. They also have a very good wifi connection.
10/10
Just left here very satisfied after a fabulously hearty meal! Great service with friendly staff and comfortable surroundings. If you want grub that will stick to your bones and keep you warm this is your place! Thumbs up
Such a lovely place with beautiful food, highly recommend.
Absolutely love this place...fantastic staff, food and surroundings. Well worth a visit at any time x
After a day trudging up Cadair Idris, my fiancé & I stopped off for a late lunch & had a lovely meal. We started with soup followed by roast beef. Both were very tasty Service was great & the staff very friendly. See you again soon
Sunday dinner with family, couldn't fault anything. Friendly service and quality of food was excellent. Genuinely the best piece of beef I've had for years, thick cut and came apart with a fork.
Desserts also top drawer, will 100% be back again
Had lunch with the family at Cross Foxes and the food was great. We tried the burgers and steak which were really good. The desserts were also very good in particular the apple cheese cake. We loved the food, atmosphere and service and will definitely be dropping in again when we're in the area.
Called in for a light lunch and ordered from the sandwich menu. It was anything but a light lunch! a beautifully presented chicken BLT served with chips and salad, my wife had the chicken katsu wrap also with chips and salad and we couldn't be happier with our choices. We had a table right in front of a lovely log fire and were made most welcome by the friendly people who work there. We will certainly be back again when next up from Cornwall!
Fabulous hotel, really friendly welcome. Dinner was fantastic (steak, gammon, burger), all freshly cooked. Under the Mach Loop, so great for plane spotters. Superb Welsh Breakfast!!
Lovely place on the main road. Roaring fire keeping us warm on the evening we visited. Had a really nice carribean style curry and the pudding was amazing (chocolate fruit and nut Torte). Nice choice of Welsh brewed real ales. Recommended.
Great find on our way home from Dyfi bike park. The balcony dining area gave this place added charm. Shame we couldn't see the mountain range from that angle but a brilliant viewing platform for the military aircraft flying over regularly. The food was at a good standard and nicely presented, especially the hand cut chips. Well decorated interior. Toilets are downstairs so not sure about disabled chair access as we needed to walk up stairs to the restaurant and downstairs to the toilet.
I can't say about the rooms, as I only ate there. But for the bar side. Dog Friendly, but I would recommend in booking behind hand, to save any disappointment.
Food was nice, hot on arrival.
Staff friendly and helpful.
We came across this place while on holiday so booked at table online for a meal out one evening.
There were 5 of us plus our dog.
The service from the start was amazing. The staff were very welcoming & polite.
The food was so good, freshly prepared and full of flavour.
The place had a cosy feel and lovely decor.
The restaurant has 2 areas 1 where you can take dogs in plus an outdoor balcony eating area. Also a bar and garden with amazing views to enjoy.
Outstanding food, good value for money, presentation was lovely, staff and service was excellent. Our guests said that it was the best tasting food they had tasted for a long time in all establishments they had eaten at. We will be back, diolch.
Great food, some real ale, nice atmosphere. Been extended and much improved in recent years. The staff are very nice too. All in all, a good spot to stop off at...
Didn't stay at the hotel, but ate here one evening during our honeymoon. The service was good and the food was nice, but nothing that special. The interior felt a little bit lacking and wasn't so inspiring but was a pleasant enough atmosphere. Would happily stop by here again if passing by, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.
Nice location and beautiful inside.
Good choice of drinks.
Slightly disappointed that on a friday evening, they had already run out of three of their menu options by 7:30pm
Ordered a lamb and a childs pork Sunday lunch, both meats were cooked perfect and the veg wasn't overdone. Gravy was thick and rich with a massive Yorkshire pudding. Prices not that cheap, but it is in the middle of nowhere and upmarket for a pub. Will definitely eat there again.
We stopped here for a meal on our way to holiday. The food was fresh and delicious. There were lots of options for different dietary requirements. The decor was lovely, big car park, great outdoor seating area. My partner had the southern fried chicken burger, I had Cajun prawns and my daughter had Child’s pizza. We all enjoyed our meals.
Seven of us had an evening meal here at the end of our holiday in North Wales. Service was a little slow but we were acknowledged about that and apologies made. The meal was worth the wait, mostly everyone cleared their plate. The dessert I shared with my Sister was delicious. We'll be back if we're that way again. Thank you for finishing our holiday on a good note
Seen this bar and grill on a number of occasions when traveling to other location and decided to stop and give it a try. Stunning location with balcony for dining guests. Busy on our visit but the meals were served after a short wait and we had different dishes which were very delicious and enjoyed by all .
Really good food from the grill. Welsh black for the beef and local lamb.. Both burgers were amazing. Wonderful staff with big smiles make you fell very welcome.
