I have visited this restaurant today at 7.30PM. I have made a reservation at the Salkaara Street restaurant and accidently I went to this restaurant. I can see that the restaurant is fully packed and after a chat with the gentleman on the reception I came to know that I have come to the wrong branch, but still they welcomed me and my colleague.
we have ordered Garlic Naan, Beef Curry, Prawn Biriyani and a beef starters.
The quality of food they served was very good, nicely cooked and have preserved the true Authentic Indian , Keralite flavor which made me feel like I am eating from my home place.
I also do like to comment on the customer service they have shown which I have noted while dining at the restaurant. some customers have ordered food as take away and without any delay they managed to deliver the food during the busy timing.
I have seen 2 lady staffs and 3 male staffs and everyone was working as a good team to make a good teamwork
I highly recommend this place for fine dining and the prices didn't look very expensive. this place will be a good choice for family and friends gathering. I think they have a seating capacity of about 75.

First time dining here early Sunday evening with my mum and daughter. The Service was excellent with Han who is a really friendly waitress and host. Beautiful food, well presented. I tried the Dhaba Murg which was delicious and my mum and daughter the tikka masala.
Visited Salkaara for the first time today. My partner and I had a late lunch , we were nicely surprised by the quality of the food. I had the tiger prawns in a delicious mango sauce, my partner's dish a lamb covered in nan bread was very tasty but more spicy/hot than expected. The mango lassi was one of the best I've had. The service was excellent, friendly and very helpful. I would most definitely recommend Salkaara.
My nan, mum and I had a lovely dinner at Salkaara on Sunday. The service and food was lovely. Special thanks to Han who was an amazing waitress and host!
Fantastic Indian Restaurant. Small but varied menu, with lots of options I've never seen before, delicious food, beautifully presented and excellent service.
Staff welcome us with a smile and service was with a smile very chilled music calming atmosphere chilled food amazing I would go back🫶🏽
We tried the onam sadhya at Salkara and it was just amazing! The food tasted authentic and yummy! There were lots of different varieties of sadhya items and the staff there were very warm and friendly.. can’t wait to come back again next year to have the sadhya again ☺️
I am delighted to welcome this new addition to the Bristol food scene.. We have sampled a wide variety of gourmet Indian restaurants, and in our eyes, Salkaara clearly is a step above the rest. Each item on the menu is clearly thought through with flavours that are authentic where needed and brilliantly unique where the Chef has given his/her ingenuity a free rein. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough.. They have consistently exceeded our exacting expectations the two times we've been there.. Must visit if you like exceptionally good gourmet Indian food.
This was the most delicious Indian food I have ever tasted. So pleased that we decided to eat here after going to the cinema next door. There was a warm welcome & the waiting staff were always happy to help, but they were not intrusive. Each course was nutritionally well-balanced, with wonderful flavours & it was presented with great care. The food was freshly cooked & the portions were perfect. Not too much, just right. It really is a hidden gem. Go there if you enjoy Indian food that is cooked with love. We are looking forward to going there again as soon as possible. Thank you so much for a wonderful meal.
Fab curry . Not your traditional greasy curry that leaves you feeling heavy afterwards. Delicately spiced and we especially loved the use of fresh curry leaves. Yummy, interesting menu and friendly service . Highly recommend it and now a firm local favourite .
Was recommended this place, and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious. The staff were friendly, and the owner even came over to the table to introduce himself and check how the meal was.
Great place with mouth watering indian cuisine. Loved the ambiance with indian cinema drawings and posters all around. Amazing interior and service with best quality food. Will surely be there again and again. Thanks to Abi, Sarad and the whole team 🤗
Excellent food, pleasant people. Good menu range. They don't offer hundreds of menu choices but plenty of variety, many in lamb, chicken, veg or beef. picture is chefs choice mixed dessert, we ate outside.
Incredible, authentic food. They were very accommodating for us as a group of 22. Thank you, we will visit again.
Thoroughly impress with this restaurant. The current 4.8 stars is well deserved. The staff were all extremely helpful, cheerful and quick to act on requests or orders.
The starters were very well presented - almost something I’d expect from a Michelin starred restaurant.
The mains were presented in a very standard fashion for an Indian restaurant. In some way, it would be nice for them to present the mains in a beautiful way, like the starters. But I get why that might not be practical or possible.
The food itself was very flavourful and rich with authentic ingredients. The lamb in our dishes was super tender and tasted fantastic. It was obvious that good quality ingredients and great care had been used when cooking these dishes.
The tandoori idli was a very successful spin on a South Indian favourite. I’m really glad we ordered it! The royal lamb curry was fantastic and the saag gosht was by far the best I’ve tried. Everything was a little spicy, but it wasn’t overpowering or uncomfortable.
The fig naan has to be our favourite aspect of the meal. Something different and very tasty. It complemented the royal lamb curry perfectly but also stood out on its own.
We’ll definitely be back again!
I believe Salkaara aims at catering to a unique style of fine dining in the South Indian cuisine segment and therefore I must say that they have absolutely aced it. Majority of the dishes in the menu hail from the beautiful state of Kerela (India) and I can affirm that they tasted just like the ones made back at home (just a tad less spicy to my tasting but the menu is carefully prepared keeping the Brits in mind 😁). The star dish of that night was nothing but The Goan pork vindaloo. It was bang on and cooked to perfection, definitely a must try item. However, the only downside I felt was that they do not have appams or parottas which could have been an absolute perfect pairing with the Goan curry. Also, the naan wasn't as fluffy and soft as I wanted it to be and could have been made better. The Indian breads may have been a letdown but the hospitality and attention given to us by the Salkaara team was phenomenal.
