The crepes here is FANTASTIC!! They got a full range of savoury and sweet crepes and We just one of them each! We both loved the savoury one so much, it is pretty much a breakfast with the crispy crepes! Also do love the Nutella one as well with nuts! Definitely going to try the sweet one with ice cream next time!
This cozy cafe that gave me the best impressions!
Good vibes, perfect location, hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, and tasty coffes. I definitely recommend it to everyone! I will come back here again and again.
Sit outdoor and enjoy the sun and city vibes✨️
Probably the best crepe and galette I have ever had so far. We ordered La Speisse and La Nordique. The chocolate sauce on La Speisse was so addicting, combined with orange jam, very classic really, what's not to like? La Nordique was kind of fancy, with the salmon and the caviar. You should eat every component together in one bite to really appreciate the harmony: saltiness from the salmon and caviar, creaminess of the cottage cheese, and a hint of sourness from the lemon. Both were huge in size and we had just eaten something filling right before coming here but we managed to finish everything off since it was that good.
What a nice little gem. Staff super friendly and food was served fresh and warm. Coffee slightly underwhelming, but the crepe definitely worth a trip. So delicious, and crispy at the edge, cooked to perfection. Very nice vibe going there. Can’t wait to come back.
I had no idea crepes could taste this good. Mine was a savoury with ham, eggs, mushrooms and gruyere - delicious and not too heavy compared with a trad English breakfast. Had to wait a bit for them to arrive being a busy Saturday morning but well worth it.
Had a gorgeous lunch at Chez Marcel, the galettes were really tasty and there was a great selection. All the galettes are GF too. Really pleased we stopped here.
Nice small French place. The staff was very nice and the food was pretty delicious. The crepes are really tasty but I have tried nicer (or more elaborated, better to say) combination inside the crepes... The side salad was a sad spinach salad with nothing else, not even salt, a bit too basic to be honest.
Crepes and coffees are nice. Staff is friendly.
Sat on the outside patio as place is rather difficult with a stroller indoors.
A friend recommended it and I can't be more thankful. Some of the best crepes I've ever had and definitely the best ones out of France. It's small but cute and nice and the staff is so lovely. I wish I would stay longer in Bristol to try more options but if that's happening again in the future I'll be sure to pay them another visit. 100% recommended and not expensive at all specially if you think about the quaility of the food and the fact that you don't have to wait at all for it.
Great choice of crepes, sweet and savoury ones. Fast service and good location!
We managed to get a seat inside one busy Friday bank holiday morning and the very patient lady looking after everyone inside alone *and* cooking and making drinks was extremely nice. The food itself was good - as you can see from the photograph, generously sized and colourful. The crêpe itself was a little singed and had turned a little too crisp. The coffee is not good. But overall, we really enjoyed the wide selection to choose from, the toppings and the waiting.
A good selection of both savoury and sweet crapes. The portions are not very big, it's quality over quantity, so in my case I could have done with a bit more food, but for some it would be an ideal size.
Nice outdoor and inside seating .
Staff were good and we didn't need to spend ages trying to pay the bill.
Magnifique. Everything you want and expect from a French galette restaurant.
Lovely atmosphere. The crepes are nice but nothing espectacular and a bit overpriced. We had to wait a bit too much (20 min) for a hot chocolate and a crepe
Simple French bistro style serving buckwheat galettes and sweet crepes with French cider. Of course it is also a good place to stop for a cup of coffee.
Friendly staff, delicious savoury pancakes.
They don't take bookings at Chez Marcel. We were fortunate to be seated not long after arrival on a Saturday lunchtime.
Pros: buckwheat flour crêpes which is gluten-free, prompt service and reasonable prices.
Cons: toppings are quite similar and it may seem as if there is a wide choice but it's just a lot of overlap in the savoury section. The sweet choices might be worth exploring though.
It's one of those try once places. I wouldn't repeat visit.
