As others have said, there is a very visible lack of charm or character about the place. But that said, the prices are very competitive and the service was excellent. My only major gripe was that the sound from the TVs coming out the speakers was far too loud.

The Assembly was taken over by new management a few months ago and since then it's been a great place to visit. Every single time I've been treated exceptionally well, the food is great and the weekend events have a great atmosphere. It's definitely my favourite pub now!
Fantastic service; booked us cabs, lent us umbrellas, and gave us a comprehensive guide to the city. Rooms were comfortable and cool, slept like a baby. Full of the latest mod cons. On top of that the breakfast was delightful. Would recommend!

Cheap and cheerful. I have £1.50 pints on a Thursday. And £2.35 for a decent breakfast. Don't know how they're making money to be honest but it's bloody brilliant. Tres bien 👍
Nice pub with reasonable prices for both food and drink. Nice selection of food available, really good prices especially in comparison to other pubs in the area. Great availability of screens inside too so never will miss out!
