It's not by chance this place is called The Bristol Cookhouse! With a focus on becoming Bristol's top food hub, Sam & Co. are a breath of fresh air amongst the wave of Melbourne inspired brunch menus on Gloucester Road - there is only so many avocados on toast one can have. With a balance of micronutrients in mind, this place provides a health twist without rubbing the sugar/gluten free agenda in your face. Slowly making my way through the menu, it's my third time now eating here and on all occasions front of house has always been friendly and helpful, service is fast and above all... the food is insanely delicious.
Highly recommend the chipotle bean, smoked aubergine and chorizo dish to all first goers 👌.
Amazing food, attentive service in a relaxed but cosy setting, what's not to love about Bristol's latest dining experience. Can't wait to try one of the cookery nights!! Thanks Sam and Co. for an amazing family style Sunday roast. Inspired! 5*++
We had heard amazing things about this new eatery and our expectations were exceeded when we visited recently for breakfast. My partner had the sweet potato hash, I had the chorizo sour dough (both are their bestsellers). Sam's culinery and nutritional expertise really shines through- and the chef working that day got it spot on. I found it very difficult to choose as the menu is so inviting! There's something particularly chilled about the place and is remarkable how natural it all is - like it has always been there (6 months ago it was a derelict wool shop I believe). Great vibe, great food, great staff. Good ingredients cooked well, no hint of pretentiousness that you sometimes get from some 'healthy' eateries. Perfect place to go to feel nourished - the bloody mary and the sodas were exceptional too! It's worth a visit to Bristol alone for this little gem. I wish them the very best with the project, can't wait to return to try more things!
Fab Fathers' Day brunch.
Great food, fab flavours, well prepared and presented. Sweet potato and mushroom hash with kimchi and crispy kale and a fried egg was first rate (I added bacon because carnivore). The three fellow diners loved their brunches too.
Good coffee, great choice of global dishes for breakfast / brunch and my feta courgette bread was perfectly moist and tasty, topped with poached eggs and tomato jam. Wanted to stay for lunch - roasted chicken with summer vegetables and a hazelnut dressing.
Delicious breakfasts all round. Coffees were excellent too. Staff friendly. Highly recommend.
Great venue! Food and service amazing. Had the whole place for a class parents night out - perfect.
Delicious breakfast, so much choice, great presentation and service! Will be back for lunch soon 👌
Nice little place, friendly staff, good food. Spicy brunch? Not so sure on that though.
Amazing, fresh and seasonal food, great service and a lovely relaxed environment
