Went here on a Sunday for a carvery about 3pm. Still plenty of food for everyone else in the queue except they'd ran out of roast beef a few customers after me. There was plenty of turkey and ham/gammon left and it was cooked perfectly and not to dry. Lots of veg on offer and the cauliflower cheese was done to perfection, Yorkshire puds were big and done right although chef could of added a bit more salt ( personal opinion). 3 adults and 1 child with drinks came to £40 and considering you could have all three meats plus as much veg and as you like I'd say this place was a bargain. Staff were friendly and were on the ball at all times.

Good place for standard English breakfast - low salt bacon and scrambled eggs, sauce optional aside; the environment is relaxed and family friendly. Faye does a fab job in keeping the place organised and welcoming :)

The Wessex flyer is one of those pubs where everyone is made to feel welcome, if it’s a quick pint with friends an evening meal for a special occasion or the amazing breakfast buffet as a weekend treat, you’ll get the same warm and friendly welcome and service. We tend to go every other weekend for the breakfast buffet and I have to say it has to be one of the best around for the wide variety of food and drink and definitely value for money. The manager, I believe her name is Faye, has to be one of the most professional and dedicated workers I’ve seen, nothing is too much trouble, you’ll see her manning the phone, clearing tables, taking the orders and behind the bar, can only assume that because she has such a great work ethic that it has filtered down to the rest of the staff and they all work hard. Well done to everyone and keep up the great work.

Been several times. Food has always been good and the breakfast is brilliant value, but the highlight was Faye and her team! Visited at the same time as about 150 gymnasts - despite us having not booked and it being incredibly busy (it didn't look like they had extra staff for that shift), Faye managed to find a table for us (and was very pleasant with us!). She was absolutely on it and a credit to the business!

We held a family birthday 🎈here on Saturday and as usual had a lovely meal, there were 22 of us inc 5 young children, all food came out perfect, 🤤 at same time and was nice and hot. Kim and Charlotte served us and they were both extremely pleasant which always makes things nicer. It’s a totally relaxed happy place to visit, child friendly and lots of free parking right outside. Thanks for helping us have such a lovely time! 🙂 we’ll be back!

All staff were impeccable during our visit today. Our meals were served in a timely manner and were very tasty and good value for money. The only negative I have is the table and chairs were a bit dated & scruffy and need replacing.

Had hake and chips. Cooked really nicely and tasted delicious. Peas needed some seasoning though. Quiet atmosphere, but that was perfect for the lunch hour.

My local bar/ restaurant. Food is lovely, especially their chicken and mushroom pie. Prices are reasonable. Kids 3 course meal cost just over a 5'er. Good portion size.

I recently visited The Wessex Flyer Brewers Fayre in Hengrove, Bristol, and I must say it has become my go-to pub for a casual and enjoyable time with friends and family. The pub’s charming terrace provides a great outdoor space to unwind and have a beer while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. The staff, particularly the bar team, are exceptional. Their friendly and welcoming nature instantly puts you at ease, and their dedication to serving their local customers is evident in every interaction. It’s clear that they work hard and take pride in their job, making the overall experience even more delightful. The Wessex Flyer Brewers Fayre strikes the perfect balance between a relaxed ambiance and quality service. It’s not a formal establishment, but rather a place where you can comfortably enjoy a quick drink and delicious food. The casual setting adds to the pub’s charm and makes it an ideal spot for Lakeshore Residents and anyone living in the Hengrove area. I wholeheartedly recommend this pub to those seeking a laid-back environment to unwind with friends or family. Whether you’re looking for a refreshing pint or a satisfying meal, The Wessex Flyer Brewers Fayre won’t disappoint.

Oh my god . . Get the trio of pies. . . Soooo good. Big up the the manager. Polite well spoken and seems like the flash . . Always on the move. He's everywhere, at tables asking if their meals are fine. . Poured me a pint, as I went back a sat down he brought my meals out. Only let down was my partner wouldn't share her ice cream with me. .
