This evening’s experience saw me arrive at Pizza express running a few minutes late. This was no problem and the friendly waitress was understanding of my poor punctuality. For the first time in a pizza express, I ate 3 courses and I was mostly satisfied with all three. My starter was a classic dough balls but my party of 7 mixed it up with a couple of sharing portions and I was impressed with these. I ordered a Pollo ad Astra and wasn’t let done with this choice. The base was cooked perfectly and had a fantastic crispiness when I bit into it. The flavours were tantalising and the chilli oil was, as always, a great addition. As for my desert, I was disappointed. I ordered the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. It turned up looking delicious and well presented. However, the brownie was at fridge temperature which defeated the point of having he ice cream. When I pay £6+ for a brownie I expect it to be warm so that the ice cream can melt beautifully into the chocolate but it did the opposite and it left a strange sensation of wastefulness in my stomach. That said, the cold brownie did taste good, it just needed that extra temperature boost to enhance the combination of flavours.
The lighting on the table that I was sitting on was poor and it meant that I could not analyse the colours of my pizza to as great effect as I would’ve liked. The waitress was helpful and attended to our every need with a smile on her face. I would definitely recommend this restaurant especially to larger groups of 6 or more.
I like the feel of Pizza Express in Berkeley Square. It is a big restaurant and it feels spacious. I always like the pizzas, since early 1990s. Went back today; a memory trip with my wife. Very enjoyable.
I ate a vegan, gluten free pizza that was very good. It is not easy to make such a pizza without compromising what we expect.
The waitresses were great too.

Really good food. Staff a little too insistent on checking on you but I understand why. I had the goats cheese pizza which was good enough but didn't have nearly enough cheese on it to be an outstanding pizza. My dining companion really enjoyed his so 4 stars seems adequate
You know what you get here : a decent pizza. We came late in the evening at around 21:45 for a quick bite. Service was prompt and efficient, still friendly. By 22:30 we left again.
Excellent. I was with a party of 30+ people and the food was served to us all with no problems and not too long a wait. I would definitely visit here again.
Good service and food. I like the menu choices. Not cheap, but vouchers are usually sourced on Internet or in store and that can bring the price down.
