RUN don't walk to this yummy indian. T'was a saturday night and our first choice, a greek place, was fully booked. Silly us not booking a table ahead of fishermens friends at the hippodrome but we are friends of "lady fate" deciding for us and boy, were we happy she did. located close to the hippodrome this restaurant should be busy 2 hours before a show but it was empty. I looked at my partner and almost used a veto when he said he fancied indian because an empty place at prime time with a slightly dodgy outdoor decor is usually not a great idea. I am so glad we ended up going inside. The waitress, who's name I have forgotten but who deserves a raise, praise, a monument and all the good things in the world, was absolutely outstanding. she was so kind, told us all about some of the indian dishes we didn't know, and worked super quickly as well. the menu is HUGE, which is a good thing. you can get basically any dish either as chicken, beef, duck or with seafood. we ordered a lot of food. you can order poppadoms with 6 different dips which are all absolutely delicious, the samosas were yummy and we had a more unusual beef starter which just melted in our mouths and was reason alone to come back. we are not great with spicy food so stayed away from that and both ordered curries for our main course. all the staples like the onion bahjis, the daals and the naan breads were exquisite and nearly filled us up already. then the currys came. my sauce was to die for and the meat was very tender again. to make it short - I do not know why this place was empty. we were the only customers in there from the time we walked in until we left, and this place deserves so much more. Service charge is not included so please, please tip the loving staff and if I could give one recommendation - invest in a proper POS system. the poor waitress has to handwrite each receipt and tally it all up manually which just seems unnecessary in this day and age. We ordered a lot and our bill came to just below £80 which was including 2 beers - the value for money is outstanding!

I visited there with a friend for a dine in on a weekend evening. Clean environment and not noisy to have a good conversation. Food came out in about 15 minutes after putting our orders in. Server was great and attentive. House lamb Biryani was great. Overall would visit again.

This is the 3rd time we've been here over a very long period. The premises are uninviting and in poor maintenance, I'm not sure it has been decorated since the 1st visit. The server was friendly and attentive and the food was good especially the Tandoori Chicken. The prices are OK but increased since last year with no meals deal available as before. Try to avoid using the toilet. Overall good food let down by the premises.

An amazing find! I generally frequent Tikka Flame, Urban Tandoor, and Coronation Curry House, but a friend suggested this place and I trust his tastes. It must've been meant to be, because only the night before I'd stumbled past it in a semi-drunken state and wondered what it was like.. It's an old school curry house in terms of it's dated interior, but they have a great menu with the classics but also Naga and phall curries should you fancy. The waiter was really nice and asked which dips we wanted with our Dom's which was a nice touch. I had Naga chicken, garlic naan, mushroom rice and it was excellent -really lovely flavours! My friend had the phall and I also tried another chicken dish which was also nice. I was asked how hot I wanted the Naga dish and it was a perfect heat for me; madras level. The phall was really tasty and while being pretty hot it wasn't as hot and unpalatable as others I've tried, and my friend ate the lot! Given that it was a Sunday evening, it was quite quiet in the restaurant, hence the lower score for atmosphere. Today is the day after, and can also report that my constitution is in good working order and ready for more cuisine from the subcontinent 🤗 Will definitely be back!!

Surprised they're only at 4.1 stars - I have just tried their butter chicken with rice, naan, and samosas and I must say...it was a m a z i n g. Very reasonable prices - I paid £16 for it all. I only ordered online, but I am hoping to visit the place soon :)

Good track and trace posters with QR however, no staff was wearing a 😷 mask. That is probably unacceptable in restaurants. Silent little place in Denmark street which is open till late. It was quiet but the food was good. The Rogan josh was packed with tomatoy flavours and was oozing with spice. It tasted awesome with naan and rice. The seekh kebab was ok but didn’t appear to be anything fresh.

Had a lovely meal here the other week, the food was really nice and the service was brilliant. The decor was a little dated and felt more like a cafe but overall couldn't fault anything. When reviewing places you have to take everything into context and I think some people forget this. The prices are better than responsible and walking only a street away you could easily pay double. So easy 5* for me. Thank you

Regularly order from here because the food is so good. I’ve eaten in once and the staff were lovely. The tandoori chicken curries are especially amazing and good portion sizes all round. The only thing I’d say is I wish the nan breads were more soft and fluffy; they are a bit thin and crispy but the rest of the food makes up for it anyhow.

Don't be put off by aesthetics. The place needs decorating but the food is absolutely delicious. Probably the best Indian food I've had in Bristol.
