The Railway Tavern is a genuine local pub, which is a bit of a rare thing nowadays, and offers three real ales on hand pumps, plus popular lagers, cider and Guinness etc.
Darts is a popular game here, and there are two dart boards.
There is now a pool table!
Several televison screens around the pub show football and/or rugby, when it is on.
The Bristol to Bath cycle way is only up the road, so getting here is easy, and cyclists are most welcome....well..everyone is most welcome actually!
Anyway! I like this pub and it's mix of local (and not so local) people, and have spent many a happy hour (or more) here!
Went for the bristol board game evening. Great atmosphere and nice place to play ganes.

The only downside to this pub is the lack of vegetarian or vegan options. There's sides or Mac and cheese that are ok to eat if vegetarian. They've got a lovely garden and the staff are very friendly. The pub is also dog friendly and have water bowls for them too, just ask for one.
A lovely friendly local pub. The atmosphere is great the staff are very friendly. No matter how busy it is you don't have to wait very long to be served. The live bands on a Friday and Saturday night are always good. It's a great place and always very welcoming 😊
Nice pub entertainment most Fridays and Saturdays so worth A visit.
Lovely venue, passed by on a Saturday evening and a band was playing amazing tunes and drew us in! Reasonable priced drinks, lovely staff, especially becky who went above and beyond for us all night. Will definitely be returning with my family
Old school pub . Not a place if you want fancy decor, but is a place if you want chatty locals , great bar staff , live music on a friday and Saturday, darts and a 50p pool table . I personally loved the place
Popped in for a quick pint and ended up staying for the most amazing curry!
All the staff are lovely, food was so good and reasonably priced can't fault it.
Perfect place to stop with the bikes if you've been out on the Bristol to Bath cycle path as they have a big garden.

We had friends visiting from Ireland that weekend; and after the previous night out in the city centre everyone decided to stay local and was hungry. We tried few places for food (which were full); and were advised to try the old railway tavern.
And oh my how good it was!!!
The friendliest service ever!
Me being the only vegan in the group, I was happy to have some chips. I don’t expect
Pubs to provide me vegan roast; and I don’t ask for one.
As our group got split up for a little bit; I came in to that pub & one of my friends already inquired about vegan options. They had none.
However! Chef made the most beautiful cauliflower steak ever! With all the trimmings too!!! I sat there eating my “roast” with my friends.
Btw, everyone in our group of 6 were delighted with their meals.
And I’ve already suggested that place to others; and I’ll definitely be back again
First time visit.. My kind of pub, Oasis B sides on the jukebox, great set up for darts, great selection of cider and the food smelt beautiful (didn't actually see it). Will be a Wednesday night venue for darts going forward.

Sadly Mark and Amy are leaving the Railway Tavern next week they are starting a new life away from the pub trade. We all wish them good luck. We wish Sam the new owner and his team all the best and a warm welcome .
