Had dinner with friends here last night. They were happy to amend our booking last minute, as we got held up. We received a warm welcome on arrival, good service and really enjoyed the food. Will visit again.
Loved the food, consistently great service, and comfortable family atmosphere. Always a highlight for my trips to Bristol!

First time been in since the refit. Had a good chat with Raj the owner. Food was excellent and cooked me a Chicken Balti and Coconut rice that wasn't on the menu. Very accommodating and this will be our go to restaurant now. Highly recommend to everyone.

We’ve been regulars here since 1994! Great to have you back! A lot of people criticising the new layout but, time moves on! It’s bright, open planned and very well done, which is a nice refreshing change from the old skool dark booths from the 90’s! Food is absolutely on point as it always was, if there is something not on the menu just ask as they are very accommodating. Great thing about the Raj Mahal is that they open for lunch too from 12-2 which is lovely to sit and watch the world go by! Can’t recommend this establishment highly enough and look forward to seeing you soon!

Lovely restaurant. Food and service were fantastic. Reasonably priced. We went just as it opened on a Tuesday evening so was quiet. More people would have contributed more to a good atmosphere. There was a roaring trade in take aways too.

An odd place, it's either the best curry you've had in months or it's the worst. Not sure if it's my choice of dishes but on a good day it's the best curry in Bristol, on others it's terrible. Yet I keep going back?
Probably the best curry in Bristol! We dined in & the service was excellent - a real treat. The restaurant is lovely too, I loved the booth seating & relaxed but refined atmosphere. We will definitely be dining at Raj Mahal again!!

Came for a late evening snack and everything tasted good!
Genuinely good Indian, you can tell that real care has been taken with the food. I ordered a king prawn tandoori and the prawns had been shelled properly and partly sliced to allow the sauce to infuse properly. It seemed to me like they’d been marinated for some time before being cooked and it was a really delicious dish. Such a refreshing change from the food that comes out of a lot of curry houses. The other curries we had were great as well and there was a real variety of tastes between them, again, very different to a lot of curry houses that just have a couple of different tinned sauces and put a few different things in them and call them different dishes. This was our second meal here and won’t be the last!
Just popped in and ordered a takeaway whilst having a pint of cobra from the bar! Ordered lamb jelfrazi, mushroom rice, chicken tikka massala. Sag paneer, nan bread all cooked to perfection and the best Indian I have had in a long time. Highly recommended and will definitely be coming back. 👌
Good selection of curry, well cooked, tasty and very good value. Staff very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Only real downside was the lighting was very bright.
