We had a lovely Sunday lunch here and both the Mushroom Wellington and the Pork Belly were excellent. Make sure to get the Cauliflower Cheese as a side too - it is really good! Service was great, as was the atmosphere and feeling of the pub.

Very quiet for a Saturday afternoon with a glorious pub garden, which is a real sun-trap in the spring and summer months. Lovely staff and a really relaxed, genteel atmosphere.

The Shakespeare is such a great pub. I go regularly with my partner as it’s our local, and they always deliver the best service and delicious food. We particularly love the Sunday roasts, the pork belly is 10/10! It’s always a lovely vibe and the beer garden at the back is also great for those colder evenings as they have blankets/ heaters. I cannot recommend this pub enough.

Nice neighbourhood pub with a beer garden, good selection of beers. Update Apr 23 Sunday roast was excellent, with nice pint of Butcombe and glass of Malbec, also had the vegan cauliflower buffalo bites, quite busy but they managed to find us a table with no booking, would be even better if they stocked some newer IPAs - at the moment just gamma ray and neck oil - plenty to choose from in Bristol - Arbor, New Bristol Brewery..

The food was excellent! We had to wait some time for our food to come out, but there were 9 of us. The service was very good and a special exception made because it was for a Birthday meal. There weren’t many people there which made the place seem a bit quiet - I’m unsure why as the food and service is brilliant!

One of the best roast dinners I've had in a long time!!! Cauliflower cheese is definitely worth getting as an extra. Lamb was delicious. Only points to improve on were: red cabbage was a bit too strong on the star anise/clove flavours, and the roast potatoes could've been crispier (but I understand that's hard to do when cooking a large amount). Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was also lovely! Already want to come back!

Came here for a Sunday lunch on my birthday. We had a large party including two dogs and a baby but The Shakespeare were incredibly accomodating. Food and service were faultless, we were all really impressed. We will be back soon - thanks!

What a gem :D Not very big, and I wasn't expecting a full dinner menu, but we ended up getting food and having a few drinks and it was absolutely lovely. The vegan dirty fries were really nicely cooked and crispy. The pricing is decent and the staff were really lovely! I've never thought about going before, but now I'm definitely going to return

A proper, real traditional pub! Went there for a funeral and really enjoyed it! Real ales, friendly staff, special food provided for the event which was good. Nice walled terrace. Definitely a good place!

This lovely pub is just off the main Redland Road and due to the nature of the area parking can be a bit of an issue. A traditional corner pub with a lovely Victorian style exterior and toilets with stain glassed panels on door Found the pub to be very clean & tidy and the staff extremely friendly. A excellent pint of 9pm from the Bristol Beer Factory Brewery was on draught. There is a quite an extensive menu and very reasonably priced. The Ribs and Roasted Cauliflower Salad were excellent and service was quick. Will definitely return when in the area.

My local pub that I never visit enough! Food is delicious every day of the week, and as you can see their Sunday roast is no exception! Kind and friendly staff, and different sections of the pub cater to different tastes, whether it's to watch the game or curl up in an armchair with a good book. Also has a nice outdoor seating area. And if you're lucky, there will be a couple dogs in there too! Highly recommend a visit.

Loved it! Our two burgers for £10 were excellent (sans bun in picture, the way I like it). Can't wait to return
