The Shakespeare Tavern - Bristol - Photo album

It was pissing down rain so we stopped in to dry off and have a final gin and tonic before heading back to the hotel. This is a nice pub. Big fat leather furniture. Super nice people behind the bar. The beer selection looked good so I decided to have a half pint of Entourage IPA from the Bristol
A Cask Marque pub that knows about it's beers. 7 hand pulls and only two from the owning GK chain. Some of menu is pricey, but Steak&Ale for £13-45 is good these days. Friendly guy in charge of bar knew all about the Cask Marque ale trail week, and Camra discount. This is a pub I've not previously h
Unfamiliar with Bristol, we wanted somewhere to eat on a chilly February Monday so popped in about 3pm to enquire about booking a table for later. The small pub was empty but the barman recommended booking so we did. We returned about 6pm and found it heaving - we were so glad we had booked. The mea
Really good Sunday lunch but a few things can be improved. The beef was honestly so so so amazing, tender and really good quality. The gravy and Yorkshire were also really good! Roast potatoes could be crispier but the inside was so fluffy and soft so I was happy. Only thing I think let the lunch do
The food was great but is still room for some improvement. The Chiken wings starter was still cold on the bone as probably was frozen before and deep fried, but the heat didn't get through. Luckily, it was already cooked before, so it was ok. The halh chicken from Sunday roast was very tasty but loo
Love this pub, have been there many times because of its great central location, good food and lovely atmosphere. Recently booked this pub for a birthday party because of the upstairs function room. The team were super accommodating of our large group and a fun night was had by all. Will continue to
It was mine and my husbands anniversary the other day and we decided to retrace where we met in sunny old Bristol, revisiting all the old places that we used to go to when we was younger. One of these memories takes us back to The Shakespeare Tavern, we used to sit in the window and chat about our d
For a Green King, this is really not a bad spot at all! The service was great with such friendly staff. They also had a cracking ale selection and the house wine was lovely too. The inside is really pleasant so don’t let it’s location/ exterior put you off.
I visited early today with my family and was impressed by the service! Staff were quick to clear tables and made sure we were happy with our meals. The atmosphere is lovely and I love how there is a list of all the landlords/ladies since 1700s. I will definitely be going back! The food is such good
Dined with friends. Good food, well priced, and the pub brews it's own ale that has to be tried. Would recommend if your're visiting Bristol.
Lovely escape on a very wet Sunday lunchtime. Excellent vegetarian roast dinner and good beers. Staff were charming, food was very well priced. Atmosphere was cosy and comfortable. Highly recommend.
The staff is very nice, the service is quick. The food is tasty (we tried the beef&ale pie and fish&chips), with big enough portions. The decoration is lovely. The drink selection also
I only went there for a few pints of cider after a rock gig on the Mardyke. The bar staff were friendly & efficient. I will have to return another time maybe to sample their food.
Really lovely pub! I've been here several times now and reasonably priced, great for all kind of occasions and lovely 'Shaskepearean' atomstopher. The staff are very friendly, especially the manager and assistant manager!
Thanks to Nick and all the staff. We loved it so much we went two days on the trot. The fish and chips are wonderful. The triple cooked chips were amazing. The following day we had burgers. Beautiful. Great surroundings. Thanks again.
Nice comfortable pub with a good choice of local ales (considering it's Greene King owned). Food was pretty average though - roast beef chewy and Steak Pie mostly pastry.
Had a great time at the Shakespeare celebrating my 30th birthday. We hired a private room to celebrate and I must say Nick and the team couldn't do enough to make sure it was a special day! Thank you!
Meat pie was pretty.... needed more meat too feel like a value. Staff was pleasant and smiles were freely given.
