The Ox is quite well known for being one of the best (if not the best) steak house in Bristol. It's certainly a very good one! Location wise, it's easy to find in Corn Street. Th meat is really delicious and service is always quite friendly. I would recommend a booking as it tends to be quite crowded. It's not cheap, but it's worth the visit

This restaurant is incredible. I been quite a few times and I love the food, the staff and the atmosphere. I have dreams of their Mac and cheese and their steaks are fantastic. I also love the scallop starter they have. I highly recommend for a romantic dinner or celebration as its so lovely.

Probably one of the best roasts in Bristol! Beef was cooked perfectly and sides were super tasty as well! Definitely one to try on a Sunday !

A beautiful steak experience. The old fashioned vibe with low lit ambience really sets the scene for this steak & cocktail house. Overall a very tasty meal with good cost to portion size ratio, would recommend.

We came over for dinner, abit tricky to find as it's in a basement but when we stepped in first impression were really good. The place was setup to a high standard and the service was amazing. You won't be disappointed if you bring someone here for a date, It is definitely a romantic setting. If you are on a budget, do yourself a favour and look somewhere else! There is a wines, drinks and food menu which all had a variety to pick from. I had the OX steak house burger and it was the BEST BURGER I have had to date, the meat was spot on, even the chips were a statement. I would also recommend the Charcoal roasted mushrooms, best I've had to date. I tried my partners steak and it was alright, we all agreed the burger tasted better. Last but not least I would definitely recommend a visit here and I'll be happy coming back.

Great steaks and cooked perfectly as we liked. Charcuterie board was excellent. Sides were also tasty. Service was really good and accommodated us even though we arrived bit earlier than our booked schedule. Definitely recommended and will be coming back again!

Here for Dads 70th. Our male server was fantastic. Hit just the right tone just sorry my Dad insisted on keeping some of the cake we gave him from Ah Toots ... Rather than leaving it all with the staff. Good night!

Wow, now the chef knows how to cook a steak. That was amazing. With the combination of the peppercorn sauce. Just pure flavour nice juicy and soft steak. Triple cooked crunchy chips. And the icing on the cake, the crème brulé I mean wow! If you enjoy fine dining then look no further, located underneath a weatherspoons a hidden gem of Bristol. By gem I mean a queen jewel! If you are looking for cheap this isn't it but if your looking for cheap food your not looking to enjoy yourself. There are only so many words that can describe the meal I just consumed, my god it was amazing.

Had a fantastic night here for a birthday celebration. We were a big table of 10, and still received excellent service. Loved the atmosphere inside, and it felt very friendly with helpful staff. Food was fabulous, with a few tasty options for people who didn't want steak. A little on the expensive side, but offered something special for a celebration.

I had my Christmas party at The Ox last night with 13 of my clients. A really important night for me and my business. It couldn't have been in better hands. The service, from booking the table a few weeks ago, right through to the end of the night was really first class. As was the food, wine and even the bill was a pleasure to pay. Thanks guys. I'll be back

Definitely visiting again. Had the Early Bird with a bottle of beer and a glass of House Red and shared a cheeseboard. £36 absolutely banging meal. Steak was perfectly cooked medium rare, delicious, fries were crunchy and fluffy. Will definitely be a returning customer. Staff were smiley, attentive and happy to help. You want a steak dinner to remember, visit The Ox.

Food was delicious and they managed to fit us in despite no prior booking. Unfortunately we felt a bit let down by the quality of the service. One of the servers came across a little rude and unfriendly. He did not smile once. It felt unwelcoming. Other than that a lovely meal and ambiance.

It was my partner’s first time visiting The Ox and I myself had not been here for quite some time so we were looking very forward to it. The staff were extremely helpful in regard to what we should order. We ended up sharing a T-Bone steak along with triple cooked fries, regular fries and some vegetables. Everything was cooked to perfection and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal - will definitely visit again soon!

Went with my family - the small plates were astoundingly tasty. Really good steak as well! With what looked like just two servers managing the whole restaurant with ease, this place definitely has well-trained staff.

There is dark and then feeling like you're in a mine shaft. The food was great it would have been better if we could see it and the menu without use of phone touches. It's not romantic or nice it is the worst part about the place. I would happily go back but won't because I like to see my food!
