Had a brilliant time...only thing was wish we had booked longer than two hours!! Pie Minster pies are always amazing and the staff were super friendly and helpful in choosing games to play for 2 people. And they allow dogs...which was a huge bonus, so my dog watched us play :)

Really enjoyed our evening and the game recommendation. Good place to spend time with friends. The Team here are very helpful. Lots of fun if you like playing board games with friends or as a family

Excellent place to play board games and other games with your friends (or even strangers on the social night that happens every week). The atmosphere is lovely, the snacks available are great, the selection of games available is plentiful and the staff is nice. Added to this, it's in Christmas steps, which is a lovely spot in Bristol. Definitely recommended.

Was not sure want to expect but my son and I really enjoyed the whole experience. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food menu is limited but still tasty. There is a big selection of games to choose from and the staff were knowledgeable to recommend games for my son and I to play. They even helped set up the games and explained how to play. It is £2 per person per hour to play the games, which is reasonable. We were allowed to stay an extra hour to order more milkshakes and finish our game. Will definitely be going again.

I was on my first trip to Bristol and me and my friends randomly stumbled upon it. We had no real intentions of coming here in our original plan. However I got my mates in, we carried on drinking and it was an amazing time. I have already listen to the podcast and have been a Yogscast fan since 2011 so it was great to be in here. Lovely staff. Great selection of games. Many recognisable and many I've not seen before. A couple I'll be adding to my own collection now. It's such a shame there isn't one in Blackpool! If I am ever near another location I will be straight in! £2 per person per hour is such a good price!

Visited with a couple of friends on Saturday and have already booked again. We had a fab time, there’s lots of games to chose from and we loved the recommendations suggested by the staff. Orders are taken at the table, staff are friendly and helpful. The dirty fries were delicious as is the passion fruit smoothie. Highly recommend coming with friends and family.

I absolutely love this place! I spent my birthday here and having access to SO MANY boardgames I've wanted to buy is such a bargain. The staff are so friendly and amazing, they'll recommend games and explain rules. The drinks are incredible too- I had a chai latte and Deluxe hot chocolate- only put 4 stars on food because I didn't order much, but what I did get was good. The concept and execution of the boardgame cafe is excellent. I'll be making regular visits here despite the fact I live quite far. Id recommend to anyone!!

I have played many different board games, but this was my first experience of a board game cafe. The selection of games was excellent from simple, quick to play games all the way up to more 'heavy' complex games and even a selection of cooperative games. The selection was laid out in a way that was easy to navigate making it easy to choose which games we wanted to play. The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with table service included meaning we didn't have to waste time ordering coffee and could just concentrate on the gaming. The coffee and cake we ordered was excellent, although we did not choose any of the alcoholic beverages, so I cannot comment on those. The gentle reminder that we were coming to the end of our booking and could book for longer if we wished was nice as we were thoroughly engrossed and had lost track of time! All in all I was very happy with my time at Chance & Counters (Christmas Steps) and will be looking to arrange a return visit soon!

Had a team bonding evening here and what a great idea. I'm not into board games but even I enjoyed great company and service at this place. The nachos, sandwiches and hotdog type food available is very good and suits the environment and reasonably priced. The drinks menu is excellent and caters well for non-drinkers.
