The food was incredible - they were able to provide much of the menu to be gluten-free and vegan. We had the root to fruit menu and loved it
The drinks were great as well. Staff were very friendly and were happy to explain parts of the preserving processes and the shrub making process. Honestly, I had the best evening. I couldn't recommend it more.
Smart tapas bar with a creative and imaginative approach to everything. We had dinner for two and opted for the tasting menu - all the dishes were great and we really enjoyed our evening. The seats at the window are perfect for a casual dinner and the menu was really well considered and flowed nicely from one idea to another. Nothing felt pretentious or try-hard, just great cooking coming out of a small kitchen with a lot of pride and skill. Highlights include the smoked pigeon with the homemade pickles, the oysters were excellent and so was the trout. The fava bean hummus and sourdough starters were also really nice. We had a couple of beers from their great selection, a glass of rioja (excellent - rich, oaky and well balanced) and tried one of the vermouths which was also an interesting choice. Hats off the chef and the service team - I wish there were more places like this - it's lovely treat for a more adventurous meal but in a relaxed easy atmosphere.
This is a gem of place. It looks inviting from the outside and as soon as you walk through the door you can tell these people love food. Shelves full of English wine and beautiful jars full of preserved lemons and infusions of every type. Sustainable and locally sourced products dominate the menu. The food is divine, I had hake and rainbow chard and roasted new potatoes, followed by a friand with clotted cream ice cream. I couldn’t find a single fault and the bill was very reasonable. Highly recommended.
