Absolutely beautiful food, and so well presented. Staff were attentive and polite. I think it's good value for money and my friend was very impressed, who hasn't eaten at The Lock Up before. I didn't have room for dessert, unfortunately, but did manage a cocktail.

I came here for Sunday lunch for a small family gathering. The restaurant is has a warm and cosy atmosphere. Our water was charismatic, friendly and attentive, which was refreshing. I ordered the Butternut Squash & Courgette Nut Roast & the others ordered the Lamb Shoulder. Our food arrived in good timing and the food itself was amazing. The flavours and quality of the food was outstanding. Everyone at the table had clear plates. I recognise the effort that they put into the details, which made for a memorable experience. The prices are fair and worth paying. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Fantastic experience, with great food and welcoming staff - Abbi was an amazing waitress. The team dealt with food intolerances in a knowable and understanding way. They made exchanges to give the best possible experience. Perfectly cooked steak and Pomme Anna. The vegan celeriac dish was absolutely stunning too. The training an awareness of the whole team is a huge credit to the restaurant. Everyone in the team was super friendly and helpful, making a meal into a memorable experience. We will be back

The best food I've had all year. We came here for my partner's birthday on steak night (not good for a veggie unfortunately!). However, we made the most of the cocktail deal and had some delicious food. Starter: beetroot arancini. Mains: steak and chips, mushroom pasta roll. Dessert: chocolate fondant. I couldn't fault any of the dishes and the staff were very kind, with food coming out quickly. We have been discussing the amazing fondant for the past 2 weeks and will definitely be back!

Came for lunch and had 6 small plates between 2 and it was more than enough. Food wood good but missing the last little thing that would have made them great. Dessert on the other hand, we had the vegan dessert which was good, and then a pear cake which was like a sticky toffee pudding with poached then caramelised pear, toasted almonds and butterscotch sauce with ice cream and I think it was the most delicious pudding I have ever ever had!!

Came here on a Sunday to try the roast after it was highly recommended. It was completely flawless. Had the slow cooked lamb shoulder, tasted amazing. Roast potatoes, gravy and Yorkshire pudding were on point as well. Plenty of veg, cauliflower cheese was super tasty. The prices were very reasonable as well. Service was very professional and friendly.

Luckily when we arrived there was a cancelation so we managed to get a table for two (always a good sign that a restaurant is fully booked) You can see why as the food was delicious, expertly prepared and presented and the staff who were friendly, professional, considerate and knowledgeable. Will most certainly visit again, if we can get a table. Thanks guys

We had a Sunday roast at The Lock Up, I had the GF lamb and my partner had the pork belly with a side of cauliflower cheese which was also GF. It was definitely one of the nicest and biggest roasts I've had in a while, we really enjoyed it. The GF option also had a Yorkshire pudding which was great as most places just don't give you one with the GF option. The staff were friendly and welcoming and quick to take our orders and bring out the food. Definitely worth a visit!

Great quality food well priced in family run restaurant. Had lunch with 6 plates of tapas, dessert each, one coffee and one cocktail/soft drink for just over £30/head. Used to come here regularly pre pandemic and before we had 2 kids, but just came back for tapas lunch and dessert. All excellent. Particularly the mackerel, heritage tomatoes, the crushed white bean and roasted garlic dip with toasted focaccia, and the oil dip with the toasted sourdough and olives. Vanilla panna cotta with blackcurrant sorbet and chocolate torte with slated caramel ice cream were both excellent too. Friendly and speedy service in a nice setting given location next to busy road in old small garage.
