Came here on a Friday night, there was 2 of us, food was absolutely fantastic can't fault it, lots of options for everyone and as vegans we found lots of nice options. Would definitely recommend the mushrooms and the mango curry and the drinks were fantastic and well presented, tasty and even had someone come over and light them on fire, proper performance. However once our food was cleared our table was ignored for 45 minutes eventhough we were intending on ordering at least a couple more drinks and made that clear by looking at the menu and trying to call someone over, we waited so long that we just got the bill and paid, but that took so long too that we ended up going to the bar.....I understand that this was due to the business of the night, but the tables behind us were getting more drinks and seen quicker etc. Would definitely return but probably mid week when it's more quiet.
The food is amazing and heartwarming - we had the amazing (and highly recommended) Egg Hoppers to start, followed by our mains of deep fried cheese and slow cooked pork.

The food was 💣, 100% excellent. We had some issues with the service but that might be an issue unique to us. We enjoyed the homely feel of the pub and we left the restaurant stuffed. I went there for my birthday and got a complimentary cocktail and am happy they did that for me.

Delicious fresh food. Suitable for my dietary needs; vegan, intolerant to lots of foods. Lovely cosy ambience, friendly staff, and felt clean and comfortable. We were very impressed with the food and price... And our overall experience. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
Arrived early for a booking but the staff were really friendly and accommodating.
They seated us off to the side and kept checking on us for refreshments/snacks. When we got seated properly service was super quick and the food was outrageous. Had some amazing cocktails on fire and the prawn curry was probably the tastiest curry I've ever had.

Great place, came on a busy Saturday with no reservation but they found a table for us. The food came very fast and it was amazing, the service was great and everyone was very helpful and welcoming, love it.
I really can't fault this place. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. It was my first time, so had no idea what to choose - staff were helpful and gave us their recommended dishes. Every single dish was tasty. Loved loved loved the spices! There were no left overs. Drinks are nice too, but I would probably come separately for drinks, as the food was filling. I didn't get to a dessert, which I think would go nicely with cocktails separately. I will 100% come back and definitely a place I highly recommend to all!
The staff were amazing and helpful. There was a varied menu option, so we ordered a mixture of meat and veg dishes to share and we really enjoyed it. The food came really quick and was so tasty. The curry mutton was slightly to hot for me but my husband enjoyed it. I had the Salmon which was plenty. We also had side dishes including roti, which left us full and satisfied. We would definitely visit again. 🍗🍚🍲
Wow! Just brilliant. The Express Lunch is incredible value - delicious and healthy. The only problem was it was one of those lunches where the food is so yummy you can't stop when you are full! Luckily, boxes are available to take home those luscious leftovers. The staff were super friendly too and went the extra mile. Thank you! We will be back!!! Top tip: Go with friends and buy the Express Lunch and mix and share dishes!
I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant and though I didn't try their other food varieties, chicken kothu was well worth the money and for me it felt like I was back home!
Love the Chicken Kotthu and stand by that it's one of the best dishes in Bristol and good value for money. Other dishes were good, some felt a little overpriced. Service is pretty slow during busy periods and felt understaffed, but can't knock the food itself.
Always an immaculate and excellent meal at the coconut tree. The menu is varied, has loads of vegetarian food, and loads of different interesting cocktails. Great for a date night or going with a larger group.

Food is small plates and is served when each plate is ready so different dishes arrive throughout your meal. 3-4 dishes per person is a good amount.
Massively recommend the cheesy Colombo and battered mushrooms. Drinks wise— the sriki-tiki is fantastic.

Been to The Coconut Tree several times now and always really enjoy the food. We went on Sunday and there were a few of our favourite things missing from menu such as the mushrooms and potatoes but it meant we tired some new things which we loved such as the cheesy Colombo! Friendly service and a lovely atmosphere :)
Great place. Nice host and the green elephant is legendary. Great to have a shared meal catch up with people in this restaurant. The host and other colleagues knows a lot about Sri Lanka and can school you about the food 🙌🏿
The food is faultless. Could not recommend more, we tried almost the whole menu (between 4) and couldn’t choose a favourite. However the service was shocking. We reserved a table but still had to wait, drinks never came, some dishes never came. We asked 4 waiters on where the missing food was - each person said it was coming, but it never came and no one came back to check on us.
When we asked for a refund for the parts that didn’t come they said it might not be possible as they had asked us to use the online ordering which was new from the night before.
We asked for the service charge to be refunded alongside the missing drinks, and had to argue that the missing food realistically should be free (at this point was 70 minutes after ordering). This was also a faff and we waited a long time for this to be refunded.
Really need this service sorting before packing out your restaurant
Amazing food, exceptional energy around the whole place and the staff were phenomenal. Amil has a gift with cocktails, hit the spot perfectly, while Kush made sure we were always fed and watered without hesitation. Will absolutely be coming back.
Tasty, fresh food. Good service, buzzy atmosphere. Something different from the usual! Would definitely go again.
