Fabulous food, I requested a particular dish not on the menu, and the chef made it beautifully. The only mistake made was a drink ordered as a dessert arrived with the meal. Unfortunately, it was not offered to be removed and a fresh one given at the appropriate time. The atmosphere and ambience were relaxed and friendly.

Really nice little place, quite varied menu and not too pricey. The staff were really bubbly and seened to enjoy working there. The food was really nice too and there was lots of variety- I had beef goulash and my mum had a Jack fruit burrito which she loved. The only downside for me was that it is quite a close space so you're sitting next to people who can hear your conversation and there are mirrors opposite the tables so you can see yourself eat which, for someone who's a little self conscious wasn't the greatest. Also, recommend booking ahead as it does get quite busy 😊

After attempting to get breakfast at The Claremont farm and finding it so popular we could not get in we diverted to The Mouse and were very glad we did. The cafe/ restaurant is set in intriguing and historical surroundings, has a fascinating interior and a wonderful atmosphere. The service was excellent. The staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient and the food was cooked to perfection. Although this had been a second choice it will be our first next time.

absolutely beautiful décor, the back was my favourite. The whimsical fairy vibe was much enjoyed. I'd recommend it but would advise portions of the lunch menu can be on the smaller side. The salted caramel cheesecake is best split between two as is the mouse meringue. (but both good). the location around is beautiful. there is a disabled toilet and seating that's accessible. there are a few stairs to get to most seats. the woman's toilets are small and cramped but in good condition and the Alice in Wonderland theme made up for the size. would definitely go again but not my favourite place in the world. in three words: whimsical, enchanting, cosy

Amazing place! Love the decor and food. Really nice atmosphere definitely going to be one of my new favourite places. Photos are from the Chapel which I think they use when it's busy, but the actual main place is just as beautiful.

This was my 2nd visit to the Country Mouse this year. In my last review of this place I vowed that I would return. My wife and I where driving through Brimstage and decided to stop off and grab a coffee and cake. When we arrived at 2pm we where greeted by a friendly waitress that said she would prepare a table for us. It was quite busy but enough room to eat without booking. We where presented with the menu and it was quite clear at that point that I was not just having coffee and cake haha. They had a festive part of the menu which was varied for all tastes. I opted for the Turkey Ciabatta that comes with Turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce. It was presented well on a dark slate with a dressed salad on the side. For a drink I opted for a Latte to warm myself up as the weather outside was frightful. The food was very tasty and seasoned well including the salad. I can never fault the food here it is always a delight. For dessert I had victoria sponge which was homemade, fluffy and made well, not dry like some can be. My wife opted for the spicy parsnip soup and meringue for dessert. Clean plates and bowls all round means a great lunch was eaten. Congrats to the country mouse for once again meeting my high expectations. See you again soon.

What a hidden gem! It looks absolutely fabulous inside, the food was very reasonably priced, staff lovely and the food was excellent! I rarely have a starter but was tempted by the onion petals, which were delicious, followed by a very tasty roast dinner with gorgous roast potatoes. I can't wait to return.

Recently had my dad’s 80th birthday here. The team were great, helping to set the room up with us and fully attentive and friendly throughout the afternoon. The food was fantastic. I’d highly recommend The Mouse if you are considering a location for an event in the future.

We were gifted a voucher for Afternoon Tea. The sandwiches were freshly made. A good cake selection and the scones came ready warm. The only thing missing was a little garnish. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We six ladies had the pleasure of having lunch here and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It has a friendly relaxing atmosphere and the staff (especially Kieran and Amy) could not have been more attentive and helpful. The food was amazing and could not be faulted. We all enjoyed our time here save for the fact we could not eat out in the beautiful gardens. Perhaps next.

We had our wedding at the Mouse and couldn't recommend it enough. The staff (especially Amy) were all so great and went above and beyond to make sure our day was exactly how we wanted it. They kept in constant contact with us and didn't mind us popping in regularly to discuss the details. Our guests particularly loved the evening barbeque and the outdoor bar. The Mouse looked so stunning on the day and the food was excellent. Wish we could do it all over again ✨

I recently had a 'big' birthday afternoon tea party in the conservatory at The Mouse at Brimstage. The room was beautifully set up to my requirements and the staff were very happy for us to bring our own flowers and balloons. They were very attentive throughout the event, but not too intrusive. Always happy to oblige if we asked for anything during the afternoon. The afternoon tea itself was beautifully presented, delicious and very generous. The kitchen were happy to cater for some guests various dietary requirements. Tea and coffee were served and then we could help ourselves all afternoon. This was a perfect venue for my special event and I have no hesitation in recommending the Mouse at Brimstage. Would definitely book again. Thanks so much to Amy and all the staff!

We popped to The Mouse last Sunday and ordered from the set menu, prawn cocktail and a roast beef Sunday lunch which was delicious and well worth £19.95. Staff are really friendly too and it's a lovely setting. Our only criticism would be having to go to the food collection point for our meals. You expect your food to be brought to your table when you frequent an eaterie. Won't put us off visiting again though

Atmosphere and location is the best attraction. We had lunch in the garden in the sun. Very quirky design but some parts outside could do with a brush or a touch-up. Food was lovely on the whole. Soft drinks came in tiny kids plastic cups and were expensive for what you got. Food also a bit pricy in ways for what you get, however this is in line with the area.
