I had a lovely Happy Salmon bowl and shared three loaded satay pockets, which were so tasty! I spent £12.27 individually which I think is thoroughly reasonable for Brighton and for most places in the south (if not the rest of the country)! It filled me up so much I could only have a bowl of soup for dinner with some small sides.

This place is a nonprofit that does their pricing in a very unique and interesting way. The menu is fully vegan and amazing! I had a sushi burrito and the cauliflower bites, both were very tasty! I really liked the vibe of the restaurant and the incredibly friendly staff also. Would definitely recommend coming to eat here!!

A delicious place that has something for everyone! I'm vegan and my friend is celiac, and we all loved this place. The duck sushi burrito was pretty good, filling with no overpowering flavours. The cauliflower popcorn is where it's at. The batter is absolutely gorgeous with flakes of rock salt. The tofu pockets are also nice and juicy, and the satay sauce is also lovely and creamy. Definitely will go again to try all the different flavours. The friendly staff and the whole ethos behind the place is the cherry on top. Make sure to leave a big donation!

Happy Maki is a great place to go for a quick and healthy meal. The restaurant is located in the heart of Brighton, making it a perfect spot for a quick bite to eat before or after a day of exploring the city. The menu features a variety of poke bowls, sushi burritos, and other healthy options. I tried the salmon poke bowl, which was delicious. The salmon was fresh and flavorful, and the rice was perfectly cooked. The bowl was also topped with a variety of vegetables, including cucumbers, avocado, and edamame. The overall flavour of the bowl was light and refreshing, and it was the perfect size for a quick late lunch. The service at Happy Maki was also good. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they were happy to answer any questions I had about the menu. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting.

Oh my goodness, what a delightful surprise. Through the doorway and up the stairs to delicious vegan food. The 'Salmon' is delicious. Super friendly staff.

We loved happy Maki. Delicious innovative vegan food, loads of different options, from fake meat to vegetable only options. Service was brilliant. We really liked that it was a nonprofit that cares about food sustainability, and has a great chat with the staff about that aspect of the business.

Surprisingly good and quite different to any oriental restaurant I’ve ever visited. Why? Because it’s totally vegan - no meat or milk in sight and best of all, you decide what to pay for the meal!! There are suggestions for the price on each dish and the server will provide a total recommended price, but you decide on what to pay. There’s two buttons to select minus or additional 5% on the suggested price, or tell them what you feel it’s worth. The salmon alternative is nice and has a similar texture to raw salmon but if in doubt, ask for sample to eat before ordering. The chicken is a tofu and really good for a chicken substitute. They do wraps and bowls and recommend the bowls if you’re hungry. It’s an 8/10 and great for vegetarians and vegans. The venue is on the first floor so look out for the ground floor entrance. Enjoy!

Lovely stop for a casual lunch with sooooo many options / combinations to choose from! Good awareness of allergens and dietary restrictions, everything was very tasty. Some things seem expensive for what they are e.g. £2.10 for a little cube of fudge. But would definitely go again to try more of the menu!

Very impressed by the huge selection of options to customise the food. As well as fresh vegetables there were lots of interesting vegan equivalents to traditional sushi and all of the ones tried were delicious. The portion was generous and they didn't skimp on sauce. For takeaway the wait was a bit longer than I expected, otherwise I really enjoyed it.

A vegan sushi restaurant should raise some eyebrows but there is a real variety of textures, flavours and options on offer here. As a not for profit you know that you’re treating others whilst treating yourself and it’s definitely a reasonable treat! I had the burrito and my friends had a sushi bowl each. Will definitely be returning!
