We stayed in Kemptown, Brighton for a long weekend and were lucky enough to stumble across The Avenue on our second day. Beautiful bohemian setting, lovely staff and a fantastic menu. I had an open sandwich which was THE best sandwich I have ever had.
We loved it so much we came back 2 days later to enjoy it all over again.
A new favourite place and we wish them every success.
My first trip to Brighton and this cafe was a perfect stop, Lisa and all staff were friendly and welcoming and food was exceptional! Look at that bread 😍 lovely relaxed atmosphere too! Thank you for a great visit!
We visited the Avenue today for breakfast and coffee, and as always everything was lovely!
The full English was tasty and well priced, the server, Immy, was very helpful and friendly!

We went for brunch and had the pancakes and the avocado toast. Both were extremely delicious and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The service was probably the highlight of our experience there, the waiter was so attentive and the new owner was so kind, even giving us recommendations for things to do and places to eat in Brighton. We would definitely come again and definitely recommend!!
Beautiful , tidy place nearly sea side ☕️ I had my coffee and breakfast in the morning and been served by Aleksandra. She recommends me poached eggs for breakfast and indeed it was delicious 😋 It was my first visit in Brighton but definitely not last. Whenever I’ll come back I will pop in to have my favourite coffee and breakfast in town. 5 stars ⭐️
Great selection of drinks and different milkshakes and coffee, the biscoff coffee was amazing. food was amazing, great quality and very quick service, the waitress was very friendly and attentive, however we visited on two occasions and both visits the cafe was very busy. There was only one server who was also doing all the washing up, clearing and wiping of tables, serving, drink making and well everything except for cooking, she was doing her absolute best, but this meant that there was quite a wait to order and receive drinks, an extra pair of hands would have greatly improved the service and I’m sure also the servers experience too who was rushed off her feet, this also caused a few people to leave the cafe as they could not wait.
Lovely cafe with friendly staff. The food and coffee and are superb & it is also excellent for working from as it has it's own separate workspace. Get yourself down here, kids! Ignore Donald Fart's review....he's just angry because his name is Donald Fart.
Nice local chain with good vibes and a good iced matcha late. No AirCon and pricier drinks than average, but still a nice spot to relax after a long day at the beach. Bathroom situation and arrived not so great (but perhaps due to short staff, no big deal)
We were in the area on a course. We had breakfast and lunch here. It was fabulous and our lunches were absolutely delicious. I had the prawn open sandwich on rye and my friend had the field breakfast, honestly would enthusiastically recommend to anyone. We will e back x wish I'd taken a photo 🙄

Genuinely don't understand some of the negative reviews here. I've been a fairly frequent regular and the friendliness of everyone there is what keeps me coming back. Nothing like service with a genuinely warm smile.
It was very busy today, tbf, but even then the staff couldn't do enough to make sure I was ok and catered for.

Popped in with my housemate for a slightly hungover coffee on my way to Morrisons on Saturday morning.
It was essentially empty so the atmosphere was unable to be judged but I was greatful for the quiet! So will give it 4 stars.
I had a decaf caramel latte which was lovely but perhaps a little too much syrup as it was very sweet so again I'll give 4 stars.
I had a feta and Spinach quiche/tart which was yummy but a tiny bit dry, not dissapointing though so again 4 stars.
Would absolutely come back and next time I want to try the vegan sausage roll!

Such a lovely place with great food and really friendly staff! In my opinion, it’s actually really fairly priced for what you get because the food was delicious and it filled us up all day. My sisters and I went for Brunch and I got the Overnight Oats while they got the Açai Bowls. All of it was beautifully presented and tasted amazing - I would absolutely recommend!
We came at 2:30 on a weekday and sat with our laptops for a few hours, the place wasn’t full and there were outlets and good wifi so it was a comfortable environment. They have a 1 hr laptop policy during peak hours of 9-3pm. You may not need to move if the tables aren’t full but good to keep in mind.
Great food. Coffee was good too. And very dog friendly, which was a bonus for us.
