Tried this spicy new Chinese cafe/restaurant after work today. Impressed I was. Sea Spice on Preston St is a lovely little cafe style restaurant. Inside it is clean and bright and always plenty of Chinese people eating. I managed to take a look at what others were eating and the food looks great. I ordered spicy shredded pork with steamed rice and it was lovely. Very spicy, but delicious. Not all the dishes are spicy despite the name but if spicy is your thing you are well catered for here. Service was good and friendly, the price was reasonable, my meal cost £7.90 and the restaurant is clean and pleasant but basic. Will definitely go back. Thoroughly recommend.

Went a little later on a Wednesday, so was slightly quieter. The food was amazing though! I lived in China for a year and it was comparable to the stuff had there. We ordered the pork dumplings, Kung pao chicken and the lotus root stir-fry (forgotten the exact name, but it was in the vegetation section). Prices were decent too. I recommend 😁

I lived in Beijing for 14 years and since returning to the UK found it tough to find genuine authentic Chinese food. The chongqing noodles, the dry pot......brought back my taste buds. This place is a hidden gem. The menu pictures and the actual dishes are accurate. Tons of Chinese people eat here too - always follow the natives. The lovely lady serving was happy to let me practice my rusty Chinese language. No need for a good atmosphere when you are there for the food. I stayed in Brighton 2 days and went for food on both days.

Nice Sichuan dish similar to food can be ordered in China. The price is not high. The spicy chicken(Laziji) is really delicious.I hope they can offer some discount(like apply for a card).

Super authentic Chinese food, one of the best Chinese meals we’ve had in England. Service was great, it takes a little while to get your food but it’s very much worth the wait. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the area as well.

We went there for my partners Birthday as she had look up restaurants in this street and decided this was the one. Upon entering we was greeted by the lady running the restaurant for the evening. She was amazing, big smiles, attentive and polite. There is a great menu with lots of variety. The food was great quality, fresh and very tasty. We hardly waited which wad a blessing as we had four hungry children. I totally recommend this restaurant. 5 Stars from me and the family.

I have visited 3 times within two months. Tasty food and prices are affordable, portion is enough too. If you like Sichuan style spicy food, I will definitely recommend to visit this restaurant! They have delivery as well.

The food is as delicious as ever; the boss is as enthusiastic as ever; if you want to eat traditional Sichuan cuisine, please go to the restaurant that has been ranked fifth in Brighton for many years.

Best Chinese restaurant on Preston Street. Staff are friendly, you can request dishes to be less spicy if your chili tolerance is low.

Excellent Chinese restaurant in a street with quite a few of Brighton's best Asian eateries. But this one has a cozy, rustic feel and a superb menu of mainland China dishes you simply don't get elsewhere. Fast turnaround but wide range of dishes on the menu which can leave you wanting to come back to explore further. One of our favourites in Brighton at the moment.

We had di san xian (aubergine, potato and pepper), ma po tofu and cold chicken in chilli sauce. Nice to have authentic regional Chinese cuisine available! Everything was delicious. Very friendly and quick service too. We'll definitely come back.
