The actual name is opposition. It's a very nice restaurant that is run as family business. The pizza is sensational and the waitress is gorgeous and very friendly. A nice table at the window allows you to enjoy a beautiful view on Brighton's traffic reduced lanes. They offer original prosciutto die Parma and as a final of your meal a various selection of nice cakes is offered.
Bon apetito!
Great fresh cooked food. Good staff and service. Family owned and an authentic taste of Italy.
Lunch time visit, really good service, reasonable price, more expensive than the chains but a better menu selection. The tables were well spaced too, not crammed in. Between us we had an excellent burger, under £8, a pizza, and gorgeous lobster ravioli with prawns £14. And a HUGE slice of delicious apple pie. We would definitely go back.
We discovered this place having walked around the backstreets of Brighton. An Italian man from the restaurant kindly greeted us and offered us a card with special offer on the price of the food order - £5 off the final bill. We returned here several hours later, as it was only 6pm, after having had a late lunch.
I ordered a Main Course with a drink - this felt sufficient as the portion sizes are always substantial in Italian restaurants.
I had Spaghetti Bolognaise with parmesan cheese and a Sprite.
I really enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Unfortunately, there were some people next to us who had already eaten and were complaining to the staff that they had been overcharged - however this was simply a bad attitude on their part. The meal was a very reasonable price and satisfied the palette well.
I would definitely return here again whenever I next visit Brighton.
Nice family restaurant, the food was amazing! You can feel the taste of Italy, I had the Polpette, I can tell that the sauce was homemade and the meat fresh, my friend had the feta salad which I had the occasion to taste as well. The feta and the olives are definitely perfect.
Give this place a try and avoid the Italian chain around this is far better for the ratio Price/Quality
Now called Opposition a great place for nighthawks to get a decent coffee and pastry as they wander their way home late at night.
I had an amazing time at this very authentic Italian restaurant, the food was fresh, very tasty, and filling. I had the bruschetta, and a pizza, it was full of flavour and had generous portions (for someone that can normally eat a three course meal I couldn't of managed the tiramisu but will definitely have it next time!!).
The Italian staff are very friendly and not only made a tourist feel welcome to Brighton but also where very passionate about visiting their home country and gave me a small list of places to go and see on my next visit to Italy.
I was greated with the inviting smell of pizza, seated straight away, service was speedy, and food was served in good time. The manager was polite, friendly and she was very professional. With a complimentary shot of limoncello (lemon liqueur) I paid the bill and was on way.
All in all I a great time eating fresh authentic food, with smiley friendly staff. If I had to make a recommendation it would be for more Italian music to add to the atmosphere. But other than that... 10 out of 10!! I'll be back. Well done guys! :)
All their main course were eccelent and their homemade desserts were amazing. The service was friendly and pompty. The price are very reasonable for their good quality. I will definitely eat there again. Their coffee was a properly italian coffee, and italian limoncello as well.I went there for my birthday, and they brought us a huge slice of tiramisù with candles in to tables and complimentary limoncello, followed by sambuca. Everybody was so impressed and we can't wait to go back.thanks!
Lovely fresh homemade Italian food here. The food was hot and served quickly to us. The prices were very reasonable and the portion sizes were very good. The staff were polite and helpful
We popped in this properly italian restaurant to eat something new, after we saw their lovely specials on the board.. We ve tried some different speciallike tagliatelle with salmon, fillet steak, lamb shank and very big and really neapolitan pizzas full of topping..but I think their favourite dishe is scallops and King prowns, it was very tasty and full of prowns. The staff really kind and helpful. The atmosphere was very warm and friendly with candles and beautiful lights. The gave us some free shot of italian limoncello,we were so happy and satisfied. we definitely will came back there. Thanks to everyone
i saw the other reviews and now, i would like to say my point of view .the food there is freshly made and rushing the kitchen is not good. i personally frequent zio peppe restaurant quite often, and they know me , im very demanding but they have never committed any mistakes with me, and food was always delivered on time , and it was very tasty. their selections of wines was also good , and their special are amazing. try it yourself before judging them from the reviews. buon appetito
