Food is amazing, but the portions are miserable. Please be more generous!
Amazing and delicious food and very hearty portions. I must’ve gotten half a chicken for 8£ and omg how good it was. No hesitation would marry the cook.
We ordered jerk chicken, coleslaw, dumpling and plantain through deliveroo. I have never tasted Caribbean food like it. It was tasty and delicious. The food was still hot. I will be ordering again and will try other dishes from the menu. I am glad i ordered from here. I will be ordering again. Absolutely amazing.
The food was amazing, really well priced for the area and quality was perfect. Everything was cooked fresh to order, well packaged and delivered. I really enjoyed the chicken roti and macaroni, tasted so authentic. I would suggest this place to anyone was really worth popping in and supporting your local. The service was warm and friendly and the online system to order and collect was straight forward and easy to use. Overall very happy with the food and would definitely come back again
We were looking for a takeaway with flavour! Bored with bland Indian and Chinese takeaways, we were really pleased with our takeaway from Island! A really healthy portion, and very tasty! Oneil is a friendly fella and we had a good chat whilst he was serving. Island will now be a regular Friday night for us now.
Having never been to Jamaica this is the closest I can imagine you'd get to it on Edward Street.
The pub next door allows their patrons to bring in food which gives you three choices;
1. eat in
2. take out
3. pub
my picture sums it up.. their food was too good to wait before taking a picture. The Chicken was succulent, mildly spicey and moorish. The Ox tail had little meat to offer but the flavours were delicious.
The service and attitude was authentic which spares every bit of attention to be spent on the food. Energy which isn't wasted.

This place is really nice, the jerk chicken is amazing the rice and peas are perfect and the customer service is the best, also my dad said hes had pattys in peckham, brixton, harlesdon and notting hill and this was the best chicken patty he had I recommend eating here if you want some healthy authentic Jamaican food
A hidden little gem in Kemptown! We had jerk chicken, curried chicken, plantain and dumplings. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Very friendly will definitely be returning!
