Delicious, with a great selection, combined with a friendly service,
Vegan options too which our guest really was happy and impressed with.
....and if you are not, they also source local meat from small farms too.
Let's not forget to mention succulent fresh fish.. first time to try white tuna.. I can't remember the other name it's given
Sensibly priced lunch menu too, though some of us went al a carte and also very happy with our choices.
Definitely will return.
We love Japanese food so we popped out of St Thomas hospital and walked along the scenic route, along the river. We attended Aji, formerly the old mc Donald. Once upon a time, a packed place. Surprisingly quiet.
Food: the food was extremely well presented. Well done. On initial thoughts, it looked on the small side but after eating everything including all the soup, I was full.
We had a started which came a bit later, but that was fine.
Overall all, the food was brilliant. I had egg in mine. It was beautifully cooked. The starters was very nice. Either I was hungry or it was super good food.
Service: it was good. Quick at the time of visit as we were early.
Atmosphere: lovely looking restaurant. It would have been nicer if there was some Japanese themed music.
The best katsu curry in Brighton and hove! I absolutely love this restaurant, it is my favourite.
Lovely food, great service xx now we know what we are doing , we will go back
By far the best Sushi in Brighton and Hove! Would highly recommend.
The Aji Poke bowl is the perfect light lunch full of tasty, fresh ingredients. Or if you fancy sushi try the Rock' n roll or One The Drive duo - both incredible! Grab a seat in the window and people watch or sit on the pass to watch the chefs in action.
I'll be back soon! :)
One of my favorite upscale sushi houses in Brighton. Great selections of sashimi as well as traditional grilled Yakitori and yakiton. Great contemporary saucy fusiony rolls too. You can also order on Uber eats, but IMO its way better in-house. Might be the sauces not traveling well not sure but still really great.
My wife surprised me with a dinner out on a Monday evening and had booked a table for us at Aji Sushi. It was somewhere I had always passed and wanted to try but had never got round to it. I was a little unsure when we arrived as there was only one other table of people eating, although it is small inside. My doubts were very quickly dismissed though as the sushi was spectacular!!! We had a wide array of different roles from spicy tuna to mother of dragon. Every single one was incredible. We had a glass of wine each, some edimame to start and then so much beautiful sushi. It was all made completely fresh to order and was presented very well (see my photos). I would highly, highly recommend anyone who likes sushi to try here and best of all it was not to expensive. Really worth a visit!
Such a hidden gem in Hove, I love the chicken katsu this time of year paired with a Sapporo and a flask of hot sake.
Best sushi we've ever eaten. Everything is prepared where you can see it and the atmosphere is like a little hidden away gem, even though it's on the main road. Will definitely come again.
A very efficient, newbie waitress who definitely works well under pressure and the food that's a treat to the pallet! (I'm not a person with a sweet tooth, but the sesame ice-cream is definitely a dessert I'll be coming back for!) Thank you!
Incredible fresh tasty food! Happy and friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go again!!
Excellent, Excellent. Have just eaten at Aji Sushi, we were meant to eat at Tropical Sushi but they were closed . Hopped on the bus to Hove, three fresh, flavoursome (thank Mark Wiens for new words) dishes later, fully converted. Please try the Volcano hot octopus dish, if you have never had hot sushi before, prepare to be converted/confused all at the same time. Great staff, very helpful, please give them a try, you have my word, you won't be disappointed.
Lovely ambience and very friendly staff. This place offers a good selection of sushi: both classic staples and options with a modern twist. Worth knowing: BYOB available if you in the mood for a stronger drink.

Excellent vegan sushi board and very nice wine. Really lovely restaurant, nice ambiance and you can see all the sushi being freshly prepared which is great. Wonderful experience and will definitely be back again.
Lovely atmosphere and authentically tasting food. What a fantastic new entry on the japanese food seen! Ordered pickles! A must...
The food here is really wonderful. Creative flavour combinations, beautifully presented. Nice range of cold and hot sake and YUMMY mochis for desert.
