Cozy tucked away hidden gem, great friendly service, fantastic pub grub with mains and burgers to choose from you are spoilt for choice. Wheather its a drink or pub grub your after you wont be disappointed give this place a try i guarantee you will be back for more.
Shout out to the Caxton for being such an amazing pub. We had our wedding here, rented out the right side of the pub (it's a separate room) and they were phenomenal. The staff were amazing (so much fun!) and the space was cozy filled with books, comfy seats and fairy lights everywhere. Not to mention how tasty the food was. Thank you, all of you, so much who made our day so special! We won't forget it. x
What an amazing find, mismatch furniture, vibrant walls, warm welcome, amazing food with quirky atmosphere, playing old school tunes, it doesn't get more Brighton than this. Only a hop skip and a jump from Brighton station this place is definitely worth a visit all though I would recommend that you book a table to avoid disappointment. 5 STAR all the way
Thought we would try this pub out before we went into the town, the food was amazing in fact overall it was that good we stayed in the pub drinking was such a good place to be! Highly recommend
Fan-bloody-tastic! Had a birthday party here in the private function area. Everyone couldn’t do enough. An absolutely fantastic night. After this I decided to organise an event for a few friends of cheese and wine. Brett couldn’t of been more accommodating. Had an absolutely fantastic time, Brett organised it all. I honestly cannot rate this pub any higher. Fan-tastic! Give them a call about bespoke events!!!
If I lived in Brighton this would be my local. Great pub great atmosphere. When ever I come to Brighton I always make a point of popping in.
So glad we made a stop off on our way home from the beach. Brett and the crew have done a top job refurbishing this Brighton institution. Great selection behind the bar and on the menu. Highly recommend paying a visit
Great pub.. Lovely friendly staff.. Definitely recommend the Caxton Arms as a great pub.,
My friends and I came in for an obligatory post weekend silliness Sunday roast a few weeks ago and everyone agreed that it was probably the best one we'd had in Brighton. Not only was the food absolutely excellent, but the staff were accommodating, helpful, and incredibly friendly. Extra's given to us on dishes that didn't contain certain elements like Yorkshire puddings when we asked, with absolutely no hesitation, or at any extra cost, which is exceptionally reasonable for food of this quality in Brighton.
On top of the fantastic everything, and dealing with a bunch of weirdos with surreal hangovers, we were all treated to a delicious chocolate shot after our meals; the icing on an already amazing cake!
Also, who can argue with pan fried sea bass with all the roast trimmings? Amazing.
My new fave pub.. I can't wait to sit by the fire over Christmas with a roast and a nice glass of wine!
Went in to this pub for the first time in a while, not expecting much and we loved it!
Such a lovely cool & relaxed atmosphere.
Great music.
The roast pork was outstanding!
The bar staff lovely.
The three clever girls who own it are a delight!
Well done!
I'll be back.
Great pub. The new landlords are superb and friendly and the range of drinks and food is brilliant. Definitely worth a visit.
Luckily I live around the corner from this little gem, both my husband and I had out Christmas staff doo's there and we absolutely love it. The girls who run it and all the bar staff make the place so welcoming, and the food is absolutely smashing.
Veggie option was fab. All the traditional Roast accompaniments equally good and the staff are a really good laugh
Been there a few times now after first checking it out with mates it for me is the best pub in Brighton by a mile, lovely people running the bar and the food is amazing!! Definatly go down and see!!
Great pub run by lovely people. Certainly worth a visit.
Great chicken burger - strongly recommend.
Nice place
Only went in for a quick bite and a pint this time.
I had a surprisingly delicious burger (the one with extra brisket meat on top, that comes in a perfectly scorched challah bun), and my friend got one of the £10 burgers (there are various daily deals - check them out!).
Food was served in a timely fashion, and we enjoyed a couple of extra cold Guinness pints.
Happy days! 🍻🍔
Delicious Sunday lunch. I opted for the beef and asked for it to be as rare as possible which is was and it was delicious! Yummy potatoes, veg and gravy, excellent side of pig in blankets. Only small gripe was the stuffing balls were a bit dry and. No baby change. However this did in no way dampen the visit. It’s a lovely pub, great food and lovely staff. Will visit again.
Love this place. It's great for ales, games, food and amazing atmosphere. I usually take my toddler and he is happy playing with the Lego available. Only downside is if you are too close to the toad table, but I guess that's everywhere
Lovely pub with a great outdoor area. They also have a function room, lots of drink options, delicious food including the Sunday roast! Spent many birthday evenings /days here. Service is excellent and the owners very friendly! A hidden gem!
This is my all time favourite pub, staff are brilliant and accomodating, food is great and I always bring my friends here for some lunch, chips are amazing and really nicely priced, one portion is enough to share with 2 or 3 people! Owner is really lovely and clearly makes a point to remember people. Also lots of traditional pub games and lots of board games! Beautiful beer garden and two TVs to watch the sports. Can't recommend enough
This pub has everything going for it. The food, both the standard week menu (burgers, fries, fish and chips, nachos, etc) and the Sunday roast are fantastic. Both menus also cater for dietary requirements and certain allergens such as gluten intolerance. Great selection and prices on drinks. They show the rugby and footie. There's 3 toads tables and a crazy amount of board games. Easily my favourite pub in all of Brighton. The Caxton is the spot.
A favourite for me and my friends, nice atmosphere and the food is good. Three toads tables, darts, bar billiards, and a selection of board games!
Great landlord and staff.
Good quality beer, wine and food. Excellent roast dinners .
Good idea to have games and books for patrons to use whilst there.
Fabulous Sunday roast, nice beer and wine, friendly staff. And a nice little covered courtyard garden out back.
Am a regular visitor here before Brighton home games, and despite often getting busy the atmosphere and service is always friendly and relaxed.
Excellent choice of drinks - ales, lagers, IPA’s, ciders and non-alcoholic choices. Whenever we’ve eaten here the food had been delicious and reasonably priced.
I live up near London so only really visit when coming down to watch the football, but if I lived anywhere near here it would absolutely become my local of choice.
Perfect place for sunday lunch. Slightly hidden gem with great service and amazing food. Go hungry as they dont skimp on the portions. Great fun as lego on the table and tons of board games to keep you occupied. We spent a good almost 3 hours here eating, drinking and playing plenty of games
Ate dinner mid week at the Caxton Arms, during our stay in Brighton.
Very welcoming bar staff. Nice, warm, cozy pub. It was happy hour so we were able to double up on our drinks! Good selection of wines, beers & spirits.
The food menu offered a good choice for vegetarians, vegans & meat eaters & gluten free.
My partner ordered the fish & chips, I had the vegan burger with skinny fries.
Service was very good.
Food was excellent- my vegan burger had lots of flavour, big portion & was well priced.
My partner really enjoyed his fish & chips.
Pub was surprisingly busy for mid week.
Nice popular spot. Huge selection of board games - if that’s your thing.
Recommended.

Today we celebrated the day of the Hungarian language with a Hungarian menu. Pubs are not my thing but went anyway and had a great experience ! The food was lovely and great service ! Compliments to the chef. 👍🏻
A great hidden bar / pub, from the friendly locals to the lovely staff this was a great find. The hidden back garden was delightful and gave us a giggle as it felt like a secret.
Jack was brilliant and patient with me and my friend, he was cool and understandable even when we lost a deposit on a game (which was our fault!) Most fun in Brighton, cost wise, for a few mates!
Toad in the hole and bar billiards!
Amazing staff and excellent drink selection. They run a happy hour Mon-Thur 5pm-7pm with some good deals. They also have a really nice smoking area out the back with comfortable cushions and proper heaters. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Brighton
One of my "go to" Pubs in Brighton, met some friends here, sat and chatted in a lovely relaxed atmosphere with decent beer at a reasonable price, didn't eat on this occasion but have in the past and have always enjoyed it. Nice and friendly bar staff made us feel very welcome. Will definitely go back again!
Fabulous Sunday lunch. What a fabulous pub. It has just about everything you could ever need. Good beer, fabulous food, piles of board games and a great garden. We'll worth a visit. Make sure you book if you're going for Sunday lunch, as it's hugely popular and incredibly good!
