Came here for a Sunday lunch with family arriving at 14:30.
Overall it’s a nice enough place, a little rough around the edges but clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.
The food overall was really good. The blue cheese croquettes were delicious as was the sausage roll and olives.
The Sunday roast was very mixed. My Dad had the beef which was tough and chewy, when he fed back they just gave him a sharper knife lol.
I had the pork which was well cooked and tasty. The veg was delicious but the roast potatoes really let it down. They were dry as a desert. Not enjoyable. Granted this was at 3pm but still, they should be good all through service.
Personally, based on this experience I wouldn’t rush back but it was far from a terrible experience. Give it a go and see what you think.
Everything was absolutely amazing . Staff very friendly and welcoming food was delicious!!
But didn't have much of a selection of gins and also the menu was very small so not much to choose from
Honestly one of the best Sunday Roasts I’ve had in Brighton!
I had the pork, which was cooked to perfection, it melted in your mouth but then the skin was so crispy. The roast potatoes were delicious but wish there were a couple more. There were a few little carrots on the side which were also nice but i hopped there to be some more veggies too.
Regardless, everything on the plate was so tasty and well cooked.
I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this roast so I will definitely come again!
We were staying close by Seven Dials and googled for a good pub for a classic Sunday Roast. We lucked upon the Chimney House and looked at the reviews and photos posted.
They don't do justice to how good the meal we had there. The best roast meats and vegetables my partner and I have had...
I can't recommend highly enough, but book as it gets busy after 1...
One of my favourite pubs in Brighton! Ticks all the boxes. Friendly Neighbourhood local with genuine friendly staff and fantastic food, jazzy vibes in the evening.
Highly recommended (as much as I prefer to keep it a well kept secret 😋)
5* service from kitchen and bar staff. Unforgettable and unique evening back in September 2020. Would recommend to anyone.
The incredible chefs of the Chimney House dreamt up and prepared a fabulously fishy five course Saturday night extravaganza for our gang of landlubbers. Major kudos is owed for taking on the challenge of transforming a fresh catch into a sumptuous menu - it was out the park!
Our haul of 'peng' fresh mackerel and six plaice was transformed into delicious ceviche tacos, perfectly bbq'd mackerel with plum, yummy fish sliders, hearty cannellini bean, chorizo & mackerel stew as well as classic battered fish & chips. We couldn't have asked for more from the kitchen - everyone was seriously impressed with the creativity and execution delivered throughout the evening.
Hats off as well to the front of house team - they handled a rather boisterous group of gentlemen with no shortage of grace and great aplomb. Many thanks!
I would replay this night in a heartbeat - it was one of my best in 2020.
Absolutely gorgeous venue. Excellent service. Great chat and vibes from the servers and bartenders. The roast and recommendations for wine, aperitifs and desert was honestly divine.
I thoroughly appreciated it. The roast was truly indulgent.
Can't say much more to commend.
There was a kitchen porters called Harry+Eli, very nice fellas, definitely deserve some extra cash. Was polite and solved my parking problem.
Great little pub in the heart of Prestonville. Staff friendly and knowledgeable, good range of beers and wine and nice atmosphere. Food was good. Definitely worth a visit
Brilliant pub and service. Had a family celebration and the food was excellent + service was just great. Highly recommend this pub. Definitely will be back. Thanks for making our celebration so special.

Lovely pub to visit if you're in the area and I enjoyed a lovely pint of cider whilst listening to the live band playing at the street party
The Chimney House is one of the BEST pubs in Brighton. It is one of our local pubs have been visiting it for years. Whenever our parents visit, they always ask to go here for lunch as they love it as much as we do. Excellent and accommodating staff, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere is always great. Can't recommend enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fantastic Sunday roast lovely atmosphere and staff were friendly. All in all a great place to sink a few pints.
Food was lovely and filling just what I wanted after a long day. The staff are friendly and attentive. A nice Brighton gem tucked away. Definitely worth a visit.
