This place ... amazing ! Delicious food, great staff, helpful staff recommending wine, chilled out all afternoon. Cannot recommend this place highly enough. Would definitely return
I love Donatello’s! It is without a doubt the best Italian restaurant in Brighton.
The food is absolutely delicious. We had garlic bread to start and lasagna for our mains with a side of fries. The lasagna is super tasty. It’s a huge portion with loads of cheese and meat. I can’t believe the size portion only costs £10.50.
We also had a bottle of Pinot Grigio, which was reasonably priced and served nice and chilled.
As always, the atmosphere was great. It’s so nice to see a busy restaurant.
Would highly recommend!
Absolutely best Italian restaurant and delicious pizzas and pastas, other Italian dishes. All in all nice food at reasonable price and the staff were really helpful, a great place to spend some time. Highly recommended.
I really love the food. Very reasonable prices, good quantity and quality of food. The ambience of the restaurant was really nice with some indoor plants which makes it warm and cozy. But the place I don’t know for some reason it’s really cold when we visited so it felt a bit uncomfortable. The service was quick and good. Staff are polite. Everything’s pretty good except for the fact they do charge service charge and don’t know why a person is asked to pay when it don’t go to the staff but the restaurant itself. It would be better to tip the staff for their generous service than paying to the restaurant for god knows what. Also the service charge is bit too much to pay for a meal. Bit annoyed still I enjoyed the food. Hope they will remove the service charge though.
Good value food. Garlic bread was delicious. Pizza was average but then again it was just a margherita. Service was poor, it took a while to get noticed when we wanted to ask for some tap water towards the end of our meal, in the end we asked for the bill and left instead.
Hands down to the delicious food and wide menu. Place was little overcrowded and dishes unclean. We have to return two forks as they were dirty.
Just short visit for a quick drink. Quick and great service, plenty of seats and superb Italian food variety but ii had a beer and move on. Hopefully coming back to enjoy the delicious food as I can get smell
This was my first time at Donatello Restaurant in Brighton, but it won’t be the last. Warm welcome and excellent service throughout our lunch. If you ask nicely, they might let you choose the toppings for your calzone. Good coffee and great food - not expensive especially considering the central location.
Very cheap price for high quality food. Served with huge bowl of Parmesan cheese. Me and my friends, a group of 7 managed to get a table immediately, highly recommended on the lasagna
I was there with a school group from Italy.
The owner came immediately to welcome us.
The food is as good as in restaurants in Italy, or even better than some of them.
For us It was like being at an embassy.
Would recommend.

Yummy italian food. Staff are polite. It's always packed, so maybe book in advance to guarantee a table, especially if coming with a large group. The meat lasagna is amazing. Prices are reasonable, too. Definitely recommend it.
Nice food, good prices and staff were friendly.
This was absolutely amazing! Was so good that we went for lunch and ended up coming back for dinner (after a disappointing previous meal). For the price of the dishes, this is the best bang for buck I've had at a restaurant. Both meals we had worked out to around £25, for the two of us! The food was sensational and the quality is by far above what you pay. Beautiful and authentic pizza & pasta that's to die for. Whenever I'm in Brighton, I'll definitely be coming back here. Would highly recommend.
I stopped for a quick lunch at Donatello with some friends when visiting Brighton. The Italian restaurant is a well-oiled machine, and although it’s a big restaurant, they are friendly and efficient with their service.
They offer a set menu alongside a wide variety of pizzas, pastas and Italian main courses. The food is very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity - I couldn’t quite believe the size of my friends pasta dish when it arrive!
I really enjoyed the food I had, including a tomato, avocado and burrata salad, and a calzone pizza stuffed full of ham, mushrooms and mozzarella. Everything was well seasoned and flavoursome, and the portion was very generous.
Overall, I had a great first visit to Donatello Brighton, and I would certainly return in the future. It’s great value and clearly very popular with tourists and locals alike.
Didn’t get to have the two/three-course meal as we went on a Saturday evening, but that looked like a great deal. The pasta dishes were simply AMAZING. I had the croze spaghetti (mussels in tomato base) - the mussels were so fresh and sweet, that even my mussel-naysaying partner loved it. The portions are really generous. A real value for money.
