I've been to Polpo a number of times and it never fails to deliver fresh tasty dishes and great drinks. This time the shin beef Bolognese was absolutely stunning, the meatballs were as ever gorgeous and the zucchini fries were a revelation. So definitely recommend if you enjoy Italian food and want to try something a little different than other more standard chain restaurants. Be aware though it's not the cheapest, but as an occasional great I really recommend trying it out.
The food was absolutely delicious, well paced service and very affordable prices. The inside is also lovely and it wasn't crowded which makes a great setting for dinner. Would very much recommend.
Ooh, this was a really amazing restaurant! It had a romantic setting, with dimmed lighting and a busy-not too busy feel. This didn't stop the food coming out promptly and each dish was hot and delicious! I love ordering prawns, meatballs and bread and they didn't disappoint! Also tried the crostini with goats cheese, wow, all the flavours! Like all tapas restaurants, the 8 dishes added up and with a drink each our bill was £60. For me, a big treat 😅 but would definitely return to celebrate a special occasion!
Great service, friendly staff and great dishes. The atmosphere was perfect and a place where you can have a conversation. The wine came is a little bottle which was pretty damn cool and new to me
Polpo has an amazing atmosphere and really good quality food. As it is a small plate style restaurant it doesn't work out as the best value for money but honestly the slightly higher costs are justified by the range of amazing options and having been to Polpo multiple times I can say that all of their fish meat and veggie options are great (although the meatballs are always my go to recommendation). The service is really great too with all the staff in my experience being helpful and friendly and all the food being served quite quickly too. It also has an amazing atmosphere with really good decor and while outside it may seem like there's limited seating, the inside has a lot more so it may not be as busy at it actually seems. Overall I really do recommend Polpo as despite not being the best value for money the quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere make up for it
Fabulous. Great atmosphere. Very helpful staff and delicious food. Highly recommended 💓

Popped in for pre dinner drinks and tapas. Lovely romantic dim lit atmosphere. Lovely starter food especially the Arancini, fried olives and crochettes. Good GIN selection. Friendly staff.
Absolutely delicious!! Some of the best food we have had in Brighton. The pumpkin was especially wonderful.
Service was good.
Not such a fan of the thimbles for wine.... proper wine glasses would be better.
Apart from that I night recommend!
Had a really lovely meal here. The menu was interesting and varied and I'd love to find another one closer to home so I could try a few other things. Service was great, they were knowledgeable about the menu and made sure to check in without being intrusive. A good wine selection with all of it being good value. Nice and relaxed casual atmosphere made this a good place to top off a busy day wandering around Brighton.
We loved the food, which was Italian style tapas. Sensibly priced. Great ambience and fantastic service however have only given 4stars because the wine was very overpriced £23 for 50cl. Our mistake because we ordered wine without checking the price. Would recommend.
Amazing restaurant in Brighton. Went on a Monday night for my boyfriend and I’s anniversary and it was so special. The food was absolutely delicious. We had 4 dishes + 1 ‘snack’ dish and the food was cooked amazingly well and the ambiance in the restaurant was idyllic. Our waiter was very attentive. Would definitely recommend.
Polpo never fails to deliver a great dining experience. Very friendly and helpful team who know the menu very well. The food is smaller plates, ideal for sharing but all excellent. The pork and fennel meatballs were amazing.
Really lovely selection of fresh plates to choose from although the meat selection missing a chicken option. Food delicious and quick however drinks service a little slower. I do wish they would change their menu material as they take and bin of after every customer not so eco friendly for a Brighton based restaurant. Overall a pleasant experience. Cost wise not cheap but not overly expensive either.
Really flavoursome lovely dishes. Both the cooking and service have improved since I last visited Polpo in Brighton. I love Polpo, but was a little disappointed when I went to the one in Brighton before. However the great service and beautiful food I had on my most recent visit has restored my faith!
Love this place. I go often. Staff are great, food and portion sizes also. It might be on the pricey side for some, but worth every penny. It's also very close to the Theatre Royal, so good for a pre/post show meal.
Great food and great service. Despite them being 'small plates' we didn't need a lot. Super tasty food. If they have it, then get the tiramisu. You won't be disappointed! Staff were lovely and attentive also, but without being the slightest intrusive. Thanks for a lovely meal.
