Honestly, the Earth and Stars serves the most tasty gluten free meals. We have travelled throughout Europe and the UK and we live in Canada-- this was by far the best gluten free fish and chips we have tasted. The lightly battered fish was absolutely outstanding! Also, the Blonde Gluten Free Beer on tap was an bonus for celiacs who enjoy quality beer! We will definitely make this stopover again when traveling.
First time visit on a Saturday afternoon. We had smoked tofu & chips and the jack burger, both awesome! Highly recommend for the meat free people out there. Staff were also great and the pub had a good atmosphere. Definitely going back đź‘Ť
A lovely friendly pub with really helpful staff. Had the gorgeous and very filling winter veg risotto while my daughter had the jackfruit burger which I tried and was delicious!

This is my absolute favourite place to eat. Their vegan and GF options are outstanding, without compromising on their other meat and veggie options (so I've been told)! Always enjoy our meal here and the staff are lovely!
Absolutely delicious vegan menu. Smoked battered tofu and chips was amazing and chocolate orange tart with caramel ice cream was the best I've tasted for a long while

I just ate what is literally the best tasting meal I've ever had in my life. The beetroot tart Sunday roast blew me away.
One of the only places in Brighton which makes a family of two vegans, a vegetarian and a meat lover happy. Food is inventive and so delicious. Great beers & dog friendly too.

The food here is so, so good. I have been a veggie for longer than I haven't. I'm not preaching, I don't need a medal or anything. I just love greens and interesting tasty non meaty food. Lately I have suffered some dreadful dinners in pubs on the veggie spectrum which has been very disappointing. NOT HERE THOUGH. Both veggie and vegan are exceptional. Great pub too. See for yourselves folks.

Lovely dinner at Earth and Stars for a friends birthday last night. Had the oyster Mushroom pie and it was lush. Cashew cheese was yummy too. Will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful time in The Earth and Stars for my birthday yesterday - there were about 20 of us and everything was perfect - the food amazing, really friendly and attentive staff, lovely atmosphere and brilliant Northern Soul soundtrack! Thank you so much. Highly recommended. ❤️

We had our wedding meal at the Earth and Stars a couple of weeks ago and it was absolutely faultless. Jess and Luke made our day incredibly special and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful day. They let us set up the night before which took pressure off the day itself. On the day, they were happy for us to mill around the bar for a drink before heading upstairs for a delicious meal - everybody commented how good the food was. Fish and chips was particularly enjoyed! The service was outstanding - very quick, and nothing was a bother. They accommodated a group of 21 including my partner's 90 year old grandma and everybody had a brilliant time. We look forward to coming back soon! Photos by Tara Gillen photography.
This pub has such a great vibe. Truly friendly staff who love their job, brilliant Sunday roasts and great beer. We ate in the small room upstairs which felt quite special. Hugely impressed!
My husband and I stopped at The Earth & Stars for a quick dinner before going to see a show at Brighton Theatre Royal around the corner.
The pub is very lively and has a nice vibrant atmosphere. The menu was simple but very well done, and I really enjoyed my fish and chips. It was well priced and overall we had a very enjoyable visit.
A large group of us sat upstairs and had a lovely meal. We booked the food in advance. Had a really nice burger and some lovely starters. The service was great. Nice beer selection and good atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
I traveled from Spain to Brighton and Hove and was looking for a gluten free local pub and restaurant. I can now confirm popping in Earth and Stars was a great decision. Every single of its homemade dishes was delicious: not only its savoury fish and chips but also its tasty chicken or beef burgers including its creamy ham and cheese croquettes. Specially recommended for families, youth and coeliac people, for sure!
We expected a pretty standard pub experience, but what we got was a super-friendly and zero-pretension gastro pub experience. The food is stunningly good. Duck leg was fab and the bean mash around it was indescribable. Still don’t know what the chef did to it but it tasted like magic. Hispi cabbage starter with a bit of blue cheese blew me away. The chips were high quality, and the veg curry with paneer was on point. Bean burger was spiced perfectly and filling, tho bun way too dense for it (to be forgiven with everything else so good). I’ve never had an artichoke starter of actual substance so that was a new and tasty experience - would go back even just for the starters honestly. Super nice staff and easy-going place. Will be back on trips to Brighton.
Had an excellent Sunday roast lunch here today while visiting for the Brighton half marathon. Brighton is always very, very busy on this weekend and finding good food can be difficult given the pressures most restaurants are under. Despite being full, the food we had here was superb…perfectly cooked, fresh and lovely. Service friendly and competent, dessert was delicious. Would definitely go back again. We had roast pork belly, roast beef and a butternut wellington. Price per roast dinner with all the trimmings from£15 to £18.Well worth it.
What a wonderful pub! The staff were absolutely lovely and the roast dinner was to die for. The beef almost melted in my mouth and the roast potatoes were crispy and fluffy. The vegetarian roast was just as good, the butternut squash wellington was rich and a perfect compliment to the meal. A big shout out to the red cabbage too! Will most certainly be returning.
Absolutely lovely roast! I had the beef which I can't fault, tried my friends pork belly which was also lovely despite not being a pork fanatic myself. The veg was great too - loved the red cabbage! Two friends are vegan so had the butternut squash wellington and they mentioned it's one of the best vegan roasts they've had.
Atmosphere is lovely - small so would advise booking ahead, and staff were friendly (only fault was delay in bringing menus and initial ordering but after that all was fine).
Also felt it was reasonably priced and would definitely recommend for the roast!

Best Sunday lunch I've had. The creamed leeks and the roast potatoes in particular were excellent. Three veggie options, two meat options, reasonably priced at ÂŁ14-16. Great service and lovely atmosphere. Outstanding!
Food menu is small and delicious. We had the fish and chips, steak and a sticky toffee pudding all great choices. Staff are very friendly and there is a good selection of wines. Will come back here.
Food was lovely and so nice to have a lot of veggie and vegan options. The battered tofu could have been seasoned better but overall really good and the other dishes (battered cauliflower, and loaded korean fries) were great!
Today my partner and I tried the Sunday roasts and they were delicious and good quality. My partner had the beef which he said was perfectly done. I had the vegan wellington, which had an unusual spicy twist. I enjoyed it a lot. The veggies were fab and lots of gravy. The bar staff were friendly and helpful, excellent service. The vibe is cosy and well presented. We will go back. I look forward to trying their weekday menu. The only thing that would have improved it would be adding vegan yorkshire puddings. I missed out on that. Otherwise, great value and we had a great experience, thank you.
Great pub. Food is unusual but really well presented and recommended. As with lots of good pubs now it is very expensive. I appreciate that this is necessary but the prices are high. I would recommend the Pub, but just wish I could go more often.

I had a steak and my girlfriend had a crab salad which we both shared. The steak was superb and cooked perfectly the salad was amazing tasted fresh and delicious.
We shared padron peppers to start.

A group of 7 of us had dinner here recently and were all impressed with the food. Great vegan and non vegan options all with locally sourced ingredients. Service is super welcoming and friendly, with a cozy, warm atmosphere despite it being fairly quiet (Wednesday eve).
Pre-Xmas visit with family for drinks and meal. We are all vegetarian and all enjoyed our meals. Great service and atmosphere too, will definitely be revisiting.
