Lovely cosy little pub/restaurant with a nice selection of ales and lagers as well as wines and spirits. The food is outstanding, a cut above your usual pub grub but there was still a steak, a burger and fish and chips on offer. Lovely friendly staff and well worth a seeking out if you want a top notch meal and a nice pint to wash it down with.

What a lovely place. Warm welcome, amazing food choices and incredible flavours. On a soggy, wet day it was the perfect place to catch up with family, enjoying great food. Thank you.

Best beer selection in the area. Featuring difficult to find lines like cloud water and wild beer. Not the cheapest pub but worth the cost for the variety of choice. When the nearest you get to big brewers is goose island you are doing well. Beers well kept.

I have been The Independent on several occasions now and each time the food was consistently outstanding. Sunday roasts are some of the best that I have had in Brighton and the music is usually to my liking. Great service and the keep my Harvey's Best flowing on tap. This place is now part of our regular Brighton pub rotation. Parking is usually best around Queen's Park about block or so away.

One of the best roasts I've had in Brighton . The starter, a fig and walnut salad with blue cheese was delicious . Service personal and friendly . Great place for an enjoyable and relaxed lunch with friends or family !

Great meals. Ragu Papardelle was superb. So too, were the burgers and fish and chips. Relaxed, comfortable ambience and friendly, efficient staff made for a perfect evening. Lovely to rediscover a really good hostelry on our doorstep.

Wonderful place. It's got a special atmosphere where you feel relaxed and happy. My family took me there for my birthday dinner. I couldn't decide which beer to choose from and I was treated to three samples to help me to make up my mind. Usually you get it when going to a brewery on a booked and paid for tour. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Looking forward to going there again.

This place is amazing. They have quality beers on tap, but my tip is to look at the can listings. Some amazing cans, at very very reasonable prices. Staff are top notch and it has a lovely atmosphere 😃

A small but extremely vibing taproom, where you have a great selection of craft beers ( ones that I never saw before ehich is rare :D ) either on tap or cans/bottles. You can also have some fun with playing one of the oldest pub game in UK, Toad in the Hole. Highly recommended, especially for beer lovers!

First time visiting on New Years Day. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Very pleasant staff. Food delicious. We ordered roast chicken. Didn’t have to wait very long and was just right to help us recover from the night before! Delightful interior and tastefully decorated. The place has a nice layout and will certainly be returning!

Very good visit! Drinks were awesome. Just be ready for a bit of a hike up the hill to find this wonderful craft beer place! But its worth it!

Good laid back pub. Focussed on wide range of beers draft and can and wide range of wines by the bottle. Secondhand books and a variety of events and djs.

Lovely Tap room in Brighton, friendly staff walked us through the immense list of beers on tap and available from the fridges, highly recommend if you want to try something new and alcoholic in a cosy, friendly environment

Came here recently and had nothing short of a great time. Had a wide range of beers to choose from and the bartender was really friendly and talkative. The vibe was really welcoming and cosy. We only planned to stay for one drink but ended up staying for a few hours. possibly my new favorite pub in Brighton. Can't comment on the food however but i would definity recommend this place to anyone.

The menu is on point, great for all types of eaters. Good selection of beers and spirits. Very popular, which is nice, but meant the staff were rushed off their feet and table space runs out fast. Well worth a trek up the hill.
