We were recommended this wonderful restaurant and it didn't disappoint. We stuck to the set menu and decided that it was the best Indian meal we had ever had. The food was outstanding. The staff were friendly. The atmosphere was electric and the peshwari naan was exceptional. All we can do is keep talking about this experience. 5 stars..
We heard about this restaurant on BBC Radio 4 and thought we would give it a try next time we were in Brighton. We were not disappointed, the service could not have been better and the food was excellent. I was pleasantly surprised that the menu was not massive as in some Indians, but you got the impression that it was all freshly cooked. This was also reflected when she asked if a dish would be too hot for her, the waitress suggested "they could bring it down at but" if she would like. Very impressed and to us they deserved all the plaudits they are getting. Highly recommend.
Brilliant restaurant, excellent food, very helpful and service out of this world. Waitresses helpful and outstanding, but the food was mouth watering amazing and perfect. All the staff was amazing and such a nice place to eat at. I can't wait to go there again the next time I'm in Brighton. It's worth the visit, trust me when I say I was stuffed and very very happy. Thank you all for the amazing food and last min booking. 10 STARS 110%
The mutton king tali was genuinely the most consistently delicious selection of pickles and sauces that have ever surrounded a kick ass curry. The restaurant is a nice, colourful relaxed space too. Loved!
Most accommodating staff, so happy to try and fit us in in a busy busy Friday night. The service once seated was attentive and so friendly, and the food...well the food was to die for! So all in in all a fantastic night out and my wife is already planning our return. Thanks chilli pickle for a great night and food!
I usually order the Grand Thali box which is always an absolute treat! Highly recommend the mutton, always beautifully cooked and falling apart. This time I decided to get the chicken biryani box set, hands down one of best I've ever had! Chicken is full of flavour, not overcooked and the rice is perfect with caramelised onions mixed through. I was so hesitant to order something different to my usual order but so pleased I did. Perfect end to my day!
Excellent food , excellent service well worth a visit but I'd say book in advance as the place was full the whole time we were there

Travelled down from London last Sunday and we were not disappointed! The food was amazing and beautifully presented. The staff where very welcoming and helpful can't wait to go back.
Fantastic friendly and fast. Food felt authentic yet modern. Freshly cooked praws were the best I've had in a ages.
Wow , best dining experience I've had in a long time, restaurant decor , layout , atmosphere , food and staff all awesome ..
We have been visiting Brighton for about 8 years now and found chilli pickle about 3 years ago and make it one of our night out every year the food and staff r 2 to none 5 * all the superstars thank u chilli Pickle
Bangin' thali, and possibly the closest you'll get to an authentic one anywhere near by.
Good service in a busy popular spot where the restaurant game is high.
Used to make Indian food and both myself and the old boss would routinely head here when we could for their lunch special deal.
The baigan (eggplant/aubergine) is to die for.
I had gone there one rainy afternoon being completely famished after searching around brighton. Being a bank holiday weekend it was extremely busy everywhere and chilli pickle was where we finally got to eat. I was mesmerized by the food there its so good. Infact being from india i did not expect to have authentic taste but they blew me away. A well deserved place to have a 5 rating
I have been here for my lunch time to try their street food menu which they'll serve in the lunch time itself.
Railway tray in very unique dish frm the menu.
Restaurant has tried to give you an authentic Indian experience by keeping Old Bollywood Song playing in background, Open Tandoor section and Stainless Steel Cutlery.
Street Menu for takeaway is much cheaper and recommended I had Chicken Biryani. Biryani was served with two Chutneys and raita (yogurt with cucumbers and Onion).
As Indian I think food here is very closer to the food (Spices are tailored for British taste buds) we eat at in our home or Restaurant.
We had also tried King Thali which is only available on Monday (except bank Holidays) between 12-3 pm for £10 which is usually for 15 on other weekdays.
Ambiance is nice as well for a nice fine dining experience.
For Dinner reservation much recommended for lunch you can walk in
I think it’s slightly heavy on the pockets but worth it once I guess.

Initially went to this restaurant at its earlier, smaller incarnation in The Lanes. Now firmly ensconced in a much larger venue in Jubilee Square that a number of other restaurants have tried and failed to make work, it goes from strength to strength, building on its original menu to new fragrant heights.
Best Indian I've been to in the UK. Sublime fresh light fish, tender meats, flavoursome vegetables alongside always fragrant and thoughtful herb/spice combinations. World's away from a standard takeaway ;)
Excellent early evening meal.. We had heard that the Chilli Pickle was good but we were really surprised how good it was was. Apart from the oddity that meant that ordering a la carte was cheaper if ordering vegetarian options than having the set menu it was as good a meal as we (or indeed I) had had in the last year.
Honestly? Simply amazing food and even if the restaurant is very busy, the service is all smiles, polite and very efficient. One of my favourite in Brighton.
The fact that the Oxtail Madras didn't deliver the expected kick really didn't matter, it was still a fabulous dish with layers of flavour and stunning slow cooked meat. The ‘Vegetable & Banana Avial’ and ‘Gobi Manchurian’ were our other favourites.
The Roti roll was suprisingly light, the roll itself being wafer thin and only just tough enough to keep in its filling. The pork was deliciously soft with a good ratio of meat to fat, but it was slightly lost in the powerful smokey, sweet and sour tomato based sauce which in itself was a real punchy treat. I don’t know what could have stood up to it but the pork didn’t cut it. Nonetheless, the combination of the meat sauce and the two chutneys served with the pork where brilliant, one mint and citrus, the other sticky pomegranate.
We came in without a reservation as a table of 3 and were promptly seated with an offer of a jug of water for the table. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the meal, and food came swiftly!
We ordered a variety of dishes and each were delicious and paired lovely with our drinks.
The restaurant itself is also very cozy, well decorated and smells great from the moment you walk in.
Thank You!
Delicious. Flavours are 6 star yummy. I was visiting Brighton for a few days and had to come back 2 nights in a row. Was my favourite place to eat in Brighton. Bring back the mussels!
You will not be disappointed if you like Indian style food.
Food & service were nothing short of excellent.
The young waitress was not only knowledgeable on the menu but also the wines….great experience, thank you, highly recommend.
We had the set menu and were not disappointed. Decent amount of food for the price, good quality, and plenty of dishes to sample. The service was also friendly and the wait times for food not too long given it was a busy night. Will be going back at some point.
Having gone in with a sceptical mind, I was blown away by how tasty and great the food was. The starter options were amazing.
Wasn’t too keen on the mains, especially the trandoori prawn korma, but the vegetarian sizzler platter was superb. Would definitely visit again.
INCREDIBLE INDIAN FOOD!
I was amazingly surprised. We went for the set menu which the whole table has to agree to for £37 per person.
You get 4-5 starters which were amazing and the choice of a curry or tandoori dish, it then comes with salad, daal, rice and naan. So much food for your money and each dish was sensational.
It’s definitely Indian food with a twist!
We had the tandoori lamb cutlets and beef mince meat and bone marrow curry- both were exceptional.
Staff were really friendly. Recommend booking a table if you are going on the weekend!
Would 100% go again in a heartbeat!
The restaurant is recommended by Michelin guide, and it was very crowded during dinner time. We didn’t book but still luckily to get seated, the crowd make have conversation in the restaurant a bit difficult. If you like to have meal in quite environment, would not recommend to come during dinner time.
The food are amazing, especially the small plate, we get to taste many new dishes that day, and the whole experience was refreshing.
Sweet lassi was not very good, it was too thick.
Recommend: Butter chicken, garlic neon
Location near North lane
Tasty Indian food! Need to book in advance for dinner. We tried the Beef and Bone Marrow, Butter Chicken, and House Dal. Portion sizes could be larger as there weren’t many pieces of chicken in the butter chicken. Every dish was enjoyable. Service was good.
BLEW MY MIND.
What a nice spin on a typical Indian. Me and my wife got the chefs banquet, which came with sharing platters of all starters and sides for the mains.
For our mains we chose mutton biryani and the beef keema and marrow bone. Everything was spot on.

A really nice, relaxed place. Great for a chilled night with family or friends.
Some amazing food! So filling and bursting with beautiful flavours. A great one for the foodie list.
Amazing restaurant, but it is now very expensive (compared to our last visit over 5 years ago). Took the family for a special birthday treat, as we lived it so much last time we visited Brighton. Atmosphere, food and service are excellent as always. Prawns were our favourite meal last time - but now you get 3 prawns for £12.00 and they were nowhere near as nice as before. Total bill £297 for 7 people including 12.5% service charge. Starters and mains with 2 drinks each.
Wow, this place is like heaven! The food is incredibly delicious, making it the best spot in Brighton. I absolutely adored the delectable dishes, especially the crispy onion and the garlic nan, which was so gooodddd. I highly recommend it due to the really friendly staff.
Really enjoyed the mouth bursting flavors in this one! I recommend the wings, the caramelized onions, and the chicken sizzlers.
One thing to improve would be the waiting time for the main dishes, as it took almost 45 mins
Brilliant!
Really tasty food with authentic flavours. Really good for allergens and loads of veggie and meat options.
Service was a bit hit and miss, but overall great. Maybe a tad more expensive than I would’ve thought, but really good!
Recommend!
The ambience was great and the service was amazing. We loved the food except one dish that was replaced immediately without any questions and later weren't even charged for it. The manager GIGI was very very helpful and approachable. Highly recommend. Thanks xx
Amazing Indian restaurant! I loved what I ordered and at the same time got jealous of all the other people because the dishes all looked divine!
Oh, the Chai was also perfect!
I've been here a few times and each time I had something different and each time I left full, happy and satisfied.
The thali is definitely my favorite but the mushroom biryani is close second. And possibly the best Peshwari naan I've ever had.
Staff are wonderful. Very polite, they explain the meals if you are unfamiliar with them.
Highly recommended and probably best to book in advance although I didn't.
My husband and I are real foodies and we own a Catering business. We had lunch here with friends when we visited Brighton. My favourite food is Indian and I just love Indian that is different to the norm. Oh my, the food ticked all my boxes which is not easy to do! A small menu choice but enough to make great choices. Every dish was superb. I had the prawns to start which were divine. A bit pricey but worth every penny.
