Lovely old pub. The beer selection is superb. They also have wine, cocktails, alcohol-free beer and an interesting food menu. Will definitely come back.

Came here for a Sunday lunch, just walked in around 3pm and they had space for 4 of us. Those who eat meat said it was one of the best Sunday lunches they've had, I had the fish and while it was really tasty I would have liked to have seen a good veggie option on the menu that wasn't full of mushrooms (just personal preference). Service was good, friendly and reliable without being overbearing. I would very much recommend popping by!

Quick service and incredible espresso martinis! We didn't eat but the drinks were good. It feels like a proper old pub inside which was quite refreshing!

Nice, quirky pub with loads of different areas for sitting/eating etc. Staff were really friendly & efficient. Fish & chips were nice but nothing amazing - peas were overdone. The roasts were great (potatoes not as crispy as they could have been). We went fairly late in the day so unfortunately they'd run out of lamb & pigs in blankets. The cauliflower cheese was delicious.

Love this pub! Tons of seating and the bar staff are super friendly. Also a bit events room downstairs, recently did the friends quiz there and had such a great time! Would definitely recommend!

We went for Sunday roast last week and we ate excellent. I liked a lot the place's decoration, wooden environment, and the atmosphere of the restaurant, which is incredibly big, you cannot wonder it is like that from outside. I lived in Ship street for 4 years and was really nice to come back and visit this place. I got the pork option and was really taste and crunchy. Not to be missed. Special mention to the young guy who was attending us upstairs, very polite, smiley, friendly and kind. Also the worker girls and the host man who got us the table for 6 with no booking in advance. Thanks a lot!

Drank here many times a huge pub lots of space on multiple levels. Hosts events and gigs and good selection of drinks. Only ate here for first time a few weeks ago though and honesty had the biggest and best cod and chips I can remember. The chorizo scotch egg starter was lovely too and perfectly cooked. Really couldn't ask for more.

The best roast dinner I’ve had in a long time! Friendly and welcoming service, even though there was two separate events going on and it was a very busy Sunday the front of house lady (didn’t catch her name) was very accommodating and found us a table. After receiving some unpleasant service from a place five minutes away we had our faith restored in Brighton. Will definitely be back when we visit again.

Wandering around the Lanes looking for a spot to finish the day and came upon the Walrus. Not knowing anything about the place, we took a chance and got a table. Place is bigger on the inside for sure. We arrived at 5pm on a Saturday and we’re surprised to find that we could only get a table if we could be finished by 7. No problem we said and we’re seated on one of many floors. The food was amazing. Roasted Sea Bream, Camembert with roasted sourdough, a decent steak and fantastic sticky pudding and crumble. We left a little lighter in the wallet but genuinely impressed with the service and the quality of the meal. 6 nights into this trip and this meal has been the best to date, including the London leg. Well done.

This was by far the best Sunday roast in a pub I have ever had the roast lamb was amazing !! The waitress who covered the tables in the bar area on Sunday was so friendly and helpful and made sure everything was perfect. I would say if you are looking for a good roast in Brighton this is the place to go. Everything had so much flavour and had the option of adding extras like pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese! Honestly so good !!!

Beautiful Pub. Was so surprised as to how big it is inside! Some great spaces to entertain with friends in and the theatre space downstairs is totally awesome. Had a very nice Sunday roast, with live Jazz too. Came back to visit again and had some great beers. The glasses were super cold which was really appreciated. Chicken burger and a heritage tomato salad... Both superb and you cannot go wrong with a chocolate brownie. The team there are super nice and Dan in particular, looked after me and my guests so well. Highly recommended and a great place for a pint and some delicious food.

Big Beautiful space. Good for both drinks and food! The portions were huge and has also great vegan options. We tried the fish and chips that comes with tartare and mushy peas and the pasta with vegan meatballs. If you like calamari I highly recommend the starter.

This place totally deserves a 5-star review from me! Their Sunday roast is superb. I’ve had their slow lamb roast which was falling off the bone and succulent. The side pink cabbages in wine sauce is exquisite and very flavorful. I enjoyed every bite; highly recommended!

Pretty upstairs dining room, friendly service, decent pub food. I had the tomato and burrata salad as well as chips, both of which were very nice. Others’ food (roasts) were apparently also very nice, and there was so much food that one of us took leftovers home. Good hot chocolate as well.
