Amazing dining experience. Relaxed atmosphere, exceptional service and incredible food. We loved that all was locally sourced, some grown by farmers right outside of town. Unique produce grown using biodynamic farming methods. Sourced organic wines and sustainable proteins. Everything was fresh and flavorful, with unique taste combinations. Absolutely Delicious! Attentive and well informed server. Patient with our 6 year old. Exceptional dining experience.
Cocktails and food were exceptionally good. Staff and service very good too. I recommend the tartare and also the bread is super nice .
Best restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. Food was incredible and the service was great. Very knowledgable staff. I’d go back again today!
The natural best wine bar in Brighton. All the wines and food I've tried were amazing. Friendly staff too. Can't recommend more!
The food is five stars but the service left much to be desired given the price of the plates. Probably 3 stars at best for service. After waiting a while for service, our server was rather unwelcoming and seemed disinterested as did the person behind the bar. Thankfully our meal was ordered with a third member of staff who was a little better. They were helpful when I asked about options and the name of some of the salad leaves They did not inform me the card payment was not working quickly enough and we had to leave to get cash. Waited an age for the bill. Food wise, the cider vinegar dip, fish and sides were superb. Management need to get a grip on the service as I am likely to visit another restaurant on next meal day and there are plenty of decent ones nearby.
Been coming to Plateau for years, and this is my first time since the pandemic, and am incredibly happy and amazed that their food, wines and service are still absolutely fantastic! Super nice lunch with fresh scratch-made sharing dishes, fabulous natural wines and I can’t wait to go back for more!
The wine list is truly eclectic, all natural wines by which I assume they mean organic and expensive. Vivino not much help as too few ratings you're that far off the beaten track. The recommendation from the waiter was interesting but not something I'd ever order again, has a fizz to it, we all thought it tasted like Vimto. My food was nothing that blew the lights outs, sourdough starter was pleasant, salami was a little bland, vegetable tempura was probably the highlight and the pork schnitzel was coated in the most incredibly crispy panko crumb but underseasoned. Restaurant is really dark, but full and buzzing. Portions are on the small side and some of the table were still hungry after working their way through the menu. Enjoyable evening but not a do over for me.
My absolute favorite of all the Brighton places we dined at over the weekend. Friendly, attentive service, excellent small plates and a truly interesting wine list. We moved on for dinner elsewhere as we had a prior reservation but I quite wish we had stayed on. A real gem of a venue with vibes in spades.
Really loved our dinner here this evening. The food was excellent and really reasonably priced for what it was. We tbought there was a great vibe and the staff were lovely. There was a slight delay on one of the starters but they were so apologetic and even took it off the bill which we hadn't asked for. Will definitely come again :)
A lovely little gem in Brighton. Lots of small home made delicious plates and organic wines. Seats inside or out for those sunny Brighton days. Enjoy!
Amazing spot! I had never drank natural wine before, staff were helpful and the bottle we settled on was delicious, probably the nicest wine I’ve ever had. The food was really lovely, and so was the atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back here.
The balance of spice and marination in the dishes is delightful. The extensive natural wine menu is remarkable. The music selection and level do not disturb the flow of food and conversation. I love it.
Lovely drinks (cocktail and the orange wine!)and food. Each dish has unique and full of flavour. Will love to try different things next time.
However, I mark one star down mainly for the price/portion. I really don't mind paying 10 pound for a tapas pork skewer but just one skwer is a bit too little, what would be the cost difference if you add another one? You can only "taste" it if you share. Meanwhile, 3 tiny sardines? And half of a sweet corn?
Maybe it's designed to be drink snacks rather than a meal as it's a wine bar. But when you have nice food but tiny portion you always wonder maybe you should have a proper meal before this, but again would you order food if you are full already?
We went for dinner while visiting Brighton and had such a great meal. Every dish was delicious, and seemed like really good value. Staff were really friendly and also knowledgeable about the wine - we tried 4 different ones and all were great. Would definitely go back next time we’re in Brighton!

Plateu is a great spot for delicious seafood dishes in Brighton. The atmosphere is very relaxed and it’s the place to go where you wanna have your seafood with wine.
I had some fresh oysters and the Bavette steak, both of which were quite tasty. We finished with a cheesecake for dessert - which was alright, but nothing out of the ordinary.
French food was delicious at this establishment. My friend and I were in Brighton for the weekend and we came here twice both at night and for lunch. Some of the wines by the glass can be a bit peculiar but food was stunning and delicate using such a great combination of fresh ingredients.
Very atmospheric with lovely food and drink options - extensive wine, cocktails & spirits with a selection af specialty beers.
Food looked awesome and our neighbours were delighted with their meals!
Not amazing for plant-based (us) and that is the missing star from my perspective.
