In honour of National Vegetarian Week, I thought it was fitting to write a post about Iydea, one of Brighton’s most popular vegetarian cafés. Iydea has won a number of accolades including the Brighton and Hove Foodie Award and the Vegetarian Society Award. I love the food here and needless to say, it is one of my favourite places to go to for lunch or an informal early dinner. On the menu is an eclectic mix of homemade vegetarian and vegan food with a number of gluten free options – there is no style or cuisine and you’ll find lasagne on the menu next to quiche and the Indonesian inspired gado gado (meat free versions of course!). Iydea is also licenced and have vegetarian friendly wine and beer on the drinks list.
Finally, a genuine healthy, genuinely tasty, genuinely fun and creative place to grab something to eat, it’s great! All veggie but you don’t miss anything, with the options being filling, extremely flavourful and numerous, there’s something for everyone. It’s colourful and so friendly. The fresh pressed juices are gorgeous as well, highly recommend getting one of those!
Will very much be back :)
You don't need to be a vegetarian to absolutely love the food at this restaurant. Long counter - select the visible items ( as the price is based on a set selection price) the lovely counter staff serve ample portions on a plate and you pay when your plate is fully loaded. And then sit down and enjoy a hearty meal. Just eat here, you won't regret it
