Rafi and Al were our servers the other night and we had a lovely time here, highly recommend! They were so welcoming, gave us thoughtful, friendly service and were more than happy to adapt dishes to be vegan. All round great experience and the food was brilliant, I’ve already started recommending to friends! Thank you, hope to back soon.
This place was quite classy with a spacious and warm atmosphere. The owner was friendly and our meals arrived in good time. I had the Chicken Tika Masala which was possibly the best Indian dish ever. Quite sweet which suited my palette. We had a view of the sea which was nice. Background music was Indian and not too loud so was a nice ambience. Prices were reasonable considering the great menu choices, great service and beautiful food. Highly recommend this place.

Love the clean white tablecloth on the tables, it’s a nice break from the usual sticky tables in pubs and restaurants.
We shared all the meals we ordered and they were all very delicious.

We are from Essex and have come down for the weekend, food was possibly the best Indian food we’ve ever had. Service was great and all the staff were friendly.
Nice layout and tables. Quite a big restaurant. Managed to fit us in Saturday night without a reservation. The food was absolutely lovely and the manager was friendly and attentive.

We came in as a walk-in for two on a Tuesday night and were treated to amazing service from Raffy and his colleagues, as well as delicious dishes. We ordered the poppadoms with dips, onion bhajis, garlic naan, egg grid rice, chilli aubergine curry, pickled chicken curry, and the Pinot Grigio wine. We can’t pick out which dish was best! The naans were light, the egg fried rice flavours were complex, and the spice was all perfect. We felt really looked after by the staff too! We would highly recommend Bayleaf to anyone in Brighton for the best curry in town, perhaps the UK!

My first time here, but i will definitely be back.
I ordered the Aloo Jeera with rice and garlic naan. Everything was delicious, very flavorful. The service was attentive and polite.
However, I felt a bit nickel and dimed. Upon sitting down, I was asked if I wanted papadom. I thought it might be complimentary, but no. I was charged for two pieces as well as for the condiments-- I was solo so I didn't need that much food and only ate a quarter of one papadom. The naan was also a bit expensive at 4.95 for one piece. The portions were a small. It didn't feel like a meal that should cost one person 30+ quid.
I also ordered a "lemonade" and was brought a Sprite. Sprite is not lemonade.
It was 5 stars for the food, but 4 stars for the prices. I was also asked to tip at the end, given a choice from 12-20%.
Very nice meal with my sister and nephew. Food was excellent, reasonably priced. Service was a little lacking, could have been a bit more attentive on a fairly quiet Tuesday evening. Overall, would definitely go back, recommend you give it a try.

Best Indian I've ever had beautiful food staff really friendly especially the one son he stood there talking to us the whole time on both nights we went in, we have tried finding a Indian restaurant since we have been back home in Worcester and we are struggling to find one where we can compare the quality and taste of the food and so far have come to a dead end and can't wait to come back to Brighton to sample the food once again and the service.

Popped in to the Bay Leaf today as our favourite restaurant had no tables available. We have passed by this restaurant so many times and not given it a second glance.
So glad we decided to give it a chance today, The restaurant is super clean, inviting, and comfortable. The staff where lovely and very attentive, and the Food & Drinks where out of this world, we had Expresso martinis, then Passion fruit martinis both where delicious and so moreish. We had a selection of starters and then the Passanda, Rice & Nan breads. These all tasted delicious and the portions where huge. Have already told our friends and are going back next weekend for another taste of delight. Highly recommend. 5 stars is not enough for this little Gem. Thanks so much

All very good. We had the table at the front so could look out at goings-on outside, but also enjoy the roomy and well decorated restaurant interior with palms and ornamentation. Food took its time coming - a good sign! - and my paneer lajawab and mushroom rice was a good mix of vegetables, cheese and flavours without being drowned in spice. And a mango lassi to go with - long time no see! Had a tricky but light-hearted entry with wheelchair navigating an entrance table, and an on-going encounter with a palm tree which led to a few jokes with the friendly staff.
In town for work and popped in here for an evening meal on a Monday. Fantastic service and I don't know what I was really expecting but it was simply one of the best curries I've ever had. If you see the size of me, you'll know that a huge compliment. Bravo!
This place was absolutely amazing. Not only did the waiter massively help regarding menu items but the cleanliness, prompt service and professionalism made date night one of the best.
