I came to Brighton on a short trip, and was searching for a place to eat. I was lucky to find Shaam restaurant. Very authentic Syrian food. The brick oven is perfect for all types of pies served (cheese, meat, zaater, etc). You should try. Grilled chicken is very yummy, well done in a rotating grill (shawayah). All other types of Syrian Middle Eastern food are served there, such as kibbeh, hummus, etc. Very professional and courteous. Reasonable prices. I will definitely come again on my next trip to Brighton.

I booked this restaurant for a Friday night to celebrate our first wedding anniversary (we honeymooned in Morocco). We were a bit apprehensive on arrival as we were the only diners that evening, however we enjoyed the exclusivity and the service and food did not disappoint! Our only disappointment is there was no entertainment as described on their website and Trip Advisor reviews which we had hoped to see. Bring your own booze is a must a definitely try out the Mechoui!

Cosy and warm atmosphere of Moroccan style with authentic and delicious dishes. You should take your own wine, as this restaurant is alcohol free:) Besides Arabic dancing on most Saturdays.:)
What a lovely little place. Beautiful decor. Loved the ceiling and lights. The chairs were very comfortable too! Friendly welcome from the waitress who gave great service. Every course of food was delicious. The main course tagines were to die for. Very generous portions too.
Clean rooms, inclusive breakfast was excellent, we are it each morning on the roof terrace, which has spectacular views across the city. We enjoyed it so much, we're coming again in 2 weeks. All staff most helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in a tree lined street, and is quiet. We slept soundly every night. The air conditioning was very effective. Recommended.
Lovely, small and cute atmospheric venue. Amazing service from a wonderful waitress who really cared about our time there, meeting our needs perfecting and attending promptly. The food was delicious, and presented beautifully. For starters we had the very yummy 'full' and chicken rolls with bread. For mains we had l'Ham tagine and another amazing lamb dish. The portions were quite large enough for my partner but I'll be finishing mine for lunch! 10/10 would recommend.
Got there early so it was nice and quiet. BYOB at £3 to open /bottle of wine. Awesome decor, felt proper comfy and warm. Excellent food all round, though the main as certainly more fragrant than the starter. Delicious dessert and friendly atmosphere.
For full flavour, atmosphere and proper home cooking this is the best and closest restaurant to authentic north African food I have ever had!
Tried to replicate it at home but no where near, will have to stay in Brighton again just to visit and enjoy this wonderful warm and welcoming restaurant!! Five stars all the way, excellent.
Delicious food in a great setting. Service was also good considering there is only one girl there who appears to do everything. You might need to book as some people who turned up without a booking were turned away due to lack of a table so it's clearly very popular
This is a wonderful restaurant! Really authentic and a delicious Morrocon cuisine. We had a large group of 11 and we were very well looked after. The food and service were outstanding and the gentleman was very accommodating. It has a good choice of gluten-free options. You can even bring your own drink for a small corking charge of £3. I would definitely recommend this place!
Excellent customer service here! The staff followed up my online booking with a text and then was super accommodating when I text back to adjust the timings (don't be put off by the two sittings on the website). Lovely ambiance inside. A little pricey for the portion size - hence the 4 - but a lovely evening all in all!

Visited on Friday night. Food was delicious, was a great atmosphere that definitely felt relaxed. BYOB with £3 corkage makes it cheap for drinks. Had sweet lamb with fruits for my main and was perfect.
Went there with my friends yesterday and it was amazing. Had the Mandi Lamb and it tasted amazing. Very warm and hospitable owner and staff. 10/10 would recommend coming here.
