Very approachable staff. Lovely authentic interior. Limited seating, (not wheelchair accessible/ restricted mobility friendly). Only slightly pricier (£2-£5 per head) than other eateries in town, but flavours of salad and a delicious creamy chicken pie were excellent.
N.B. This is, likely, the only really good (upmarket) eatery in an otherwise out of town area.
For years I have driven past and thought I must go in there one day, today I did (perfect treat after a hospital appointment) sometimes it is possible to get tired of the city if you have one of those days I prescribe you a visit to Marmalade, it's no wonder Paddington said it was his favourite... adored the gallery seating above the counter, the super friendly workers and some great produce not just awesome pastries like Pastel De Nata but meals to heat at home or deli goods. The Cortado was absowoofly fab-u-lous. After grabbing your coffee stroll around this lovely area and remind yourself how damn good Brighton is.....
Really lovely food, very friendly staff! Not from Brighton but will visit again. We offered to move seats to accommodate a party of six, the lady was kind to give me a loaf of bread for our troubles. The bread is lovely!
Finally got around to a visit. Just coffee & cake this time but will be back for more...the lunch fare looked great. Lovely decor & atmosphere. Friendly & efficient service. Very impressed 😊
Lovely little place, was busy when I went. Quirky upstairs seating area, but not accessible if you have chairs, prams etc.
Nice coffee and food, friendly staff and reasonable priced.
One of my favourite cafes in Brighton. They have a wide selection of hand made food including cakes, salads, sandwiches, Toasties and more. Staff are always helpful and friendly and there is plenty of seating although it gets busy at peak times. They accept amex too which is great.
Always busy and crowded but has great atmosphere. A great place for breakfast. A good selection of options to choose from. Highly recommended.
Loved the food , the ambiet of the restaurant and service is so good and the menu is limited and the best in and around the area. Loved the pie and dessert. I visited like 3 times in 2 weeks .
Small but full of goodness. Ready meals. Local
dairy. Organic milk and eggs. Real Patisserie bread.
Homemade cakes and tasty treats.Tea and coffee.
Outside seating. Very friendly. Ever evolving. Easy
access. Good opening times.
The fairy cake is sooo good. I also got sandwiches the other day and very delicious as well! The staff is very kind and helpful.Totally recommended!!!

Excellent service and friendly staff great selection of beverages and meals 💥
Really wonderful staff, the girl with the bangs was especially lovely. Very clean and nice atmosphere 🌸🌸
The second you enter Marmalade you’re faced with the most delicious looking pastries, cakes and sandwiches; one looking tastier than the next. That’s before you see the board of all other dishes offered, making your decision even more difficult. I had scrambled eggs with bacon on toast, carrot cake and a latte and was greatly satisfied with all. Such a cosy and unique but somehow familiar interior, perfect for chats with friends, reading or studying. Would recommend to anyone visiting/living in Brighton.
It’s a nice place, but they used to serve proper breakfast which was very good I hope they bring it back
