There is nothing not to like about Brooks Restraunt, the food is really nice the establishment is quite quaint. We have been several times now not had a single problem. They have a special menu if you go early so it's well worth trying for any special occasion. What we like particularly is the area they have upstairs to have your coffee. If you go with friends is allows you to stay as long as you want and sit in comfort whilst having a good catch up! Well done Brooks - keep up the good work!
Good Value for top notch foodbit fancy schamncy, huge plate little food, but is 10/10 for taste.just dont go if your hungry! Nice traditional settings.
Fouteen of us came here last night to celebrate the retirement of a work colleague. I actually ate here about a year earlier and was very impressed with the quality of the cooking so I've been looking forward to this meal ever since the venue was announced about a month ago. We all ordered from a £30 set menu and I think I must have gone for the unhealthiest option for each course! For starters I had the filo moneybag filled with mushrooms and cheese in a garlic cream sauce. As is the norm when eating in large groups I quickly scanned what everyone else had and was pleased with my selection! The other choices being soup (red, looked like tomato but didn't enquire as I have absolutely no interest in soup!) and some kind of white fish with loads of green salady stuff. For the main I had lamb shank. It was a generously sized portion and very tender, The person I was sitting next to ordered the vegetarian option which I tasted (the advantages of sitting next to someone very thin who never ever finishes a meal!). It was chargrilled artichokes and was an ideal accompaniment to my dish! For dessert I had bread and butter pudding as well as helping myself to my friends' meringues as she had the Eton Mess. Good value for £30, exceptional value when the boss paid for all the wine! For those of you not lucky enough to find someone else to foot the alcohol bill, I agree with the previous reviewer who said "excellent food but not excellent prices" but as I am often having to pay £30 in taxi fares to get to the centre of Leeds and back, only having to pay around £12 to get to Brighouse means I don't mind the slightly higher prices. I will definitely eat here again but it is certainly a restaurant for a special occasion.
I love Brooke's restaurant in Brighouse. The whole experience is excellent. The menu is divine, lots of 'posh' food but something for everyone. The service is fantastic, friendly helpful staff who work quickly and efficiently. It is a bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for here. It's great for a lovely romantic night out, or for groups eg at Christmas. There is a tiny bar as you walk in with seating areas and a coat hook. The restaurant is through the back with lovely lighting and atmosphere. I've really enjoyed my night every time I've been here, I can't wait to go back!
one of the few restaurants in the area of good quality, service, atmosphere and food all very good. perfect for small intimate evenings.
I recently went for brunch at The Brooks in Brighouse and it was awesome. Right when you walk in, the place feels welcoming and cozy, making you feel right at home. The menu is packed with all sorts of yummy options. From the usual brunch goodies to some really unique dishes, there's something for everyone. I picked something off the menu that not only looked amazing but tasted incredible too. You could tell they used fresh ingredients because every bite was super flavorful.
The staff at The Brooks were great as well. They were super friendly, always there when you needed them, and knew the menu inside out. They recommended some really good dishes and drinks that went perfectly with what we were in the mood for.The vibe of the place is just as cool. It's got a stylish yet laid-back decor, making it a perfect spot whether you're out for a casual brunch or celebrating something special. Plus, sitting outside on a nice day in Brighouse is pretty hard to beat. All in all, The Brooks is definitely a place I’d go back to and tell my friends about. If you’re looking for a solid brunch spot, this place should be on your list.
I would give them 10 starts if I could. I could arguably say that this has been the best brunch that I have ever had in my life. Everything from start to finish was simply PERFECT. AMAZING atmosphere and service and food was divine. Everything was freshly made and tastes absolutely sensational. Staff are very attentive and helpful and extremely polite. 1000% recommend this to everyone and trust you will not regret it.
So lucky to get a table without booking in advance. Friendly, fast, efficient service of unbelievably top quality food. The beer’s pretty special as well - Verdant Brewing Extra Pale Ale. No visit to Brighouse is complete without dining here.
We’ve had a lovely evening at Brooks. The food and wine were exceptional. Everything was delicious. The service is fantastic. The staff are very hard working and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Would highly recommend.
A quick glimpse of the menu prior to our visit to Brook’s Gabe me the excitement that I was about to go on a culinary journey. A journey that to my mind is available in no other restaurant across Calderdale.
It’s not the first time I’ve dined at Brook’s albeit last time was for breakfast and I recall that being memorable.
This visit was equally as impressive, firstly it’s important to highlight the greeting and overall service from the team which is outstanding.
The food journey was phenomenal, I was drawn to the fact that the menu is not meat heavy and there are possibly more dishes without meat then there are with, however, when your cooking to this standard that makes little to no difference.
I could write all day and marvel at awesomeness of Brook’s but instead I’ll give you my recommendation that you need to make a booking and get yourself to Brooks, it is without doubt one of the finest restaurants in the area!
After living in Brighouse forever, I finally got here a couple of weeks back. The food was delicious, I am kicking myself for not getting here sooner!!! A particular highlight was the Goats Cheese Profiteroles! *Chefs Kiss* everything was delicious and I can't wait to go back!!! Well made cocktails, fabulous and friendly service, as well as on my doorstep!!
Having come to Brighouse for tje 1940s weekend we were hungry for breakfast and as we noticed how busy it was on Saturday we were pleased to get a table. Swift and courteous service. Little touches such as proper napkins calm decor and lots of natural light made the experience relaxing and tje food well I've never had confit duck benedict before but it's on my favourites list. Turkish eggs also looked yummy. Full English with home made baked beans 👍. Very good coffee and the fresh from the oven madeleines *chefs kiss
Highly recommended jewel in Brighouses eatery crown
Excellent 'modern European' dishes (kinda large small plates, if you will) backed up by a decent wine list and great cocktails.
The staff are super friendly and helpful, without pestering or hovering - all in all a great experience for our anniversary
What a little treasure! We visited Brook's after my wife's sister saw a review in the Guardian and recommended we go (she lives in London so could not go herself).
The restaurant is small and relaxed, well decorated without being pretentious. Offers a good selection of drinks particularly wines, though their ale selection was a bit limited.
The food however was epic! And while it's is not a tapas restaurant, the sharing ethos of the dinner servings makes for a fun and varied eating experience.
The treacle malt muffin off the small bites menu was exceptionally delicious, like warm Soreen, and the singular scallop was well cooked and beautifully presented.
The small servings menu was delicious, we shared three dishes between the two of us, with the artichoke pasta with oyster mushrooms just pipping the black pudding dish as our favourite. The cod choice not so much, but don't let that fool you, they were all at worst very nice.
We shared a large dish, the roast chicken offering accompanied with two side, a delightful pureed cauliflower dish and a caramelized cabbage option. All of which rounded the meal off in style.
While not a criticism, more a reflection on my wife and I's preference, the dessert options did not quite appeal, but as we left and retired home to indulge in a food coma, this was no huge loss.
Overall, Brook's comes highly recommended. The service was friendly & efficient, and the food being not short of exceptional!
Great food at reasonable prices. We probably ordered more than we needed to do would recommend going for 2 dishes each. We had 3 each and some starters which was loads.
Atmosphere was great, staff friendly and service was good. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
