Excellent pub. Family run, with home made food and great service. We stayed at Forest Pines, and this was a really good value place to eat. Homemade ice cream superb!
We have been patrons of this excellent pub for nearly 2yrsnow. The Sunday Lunch is extremely good as are the Landlord & Landlady s welcome.Service is also very very good.No complaints ever.! Compliments to the Chef also. This place really deserves five stars.
We were made very welcome by the staff. Fish and chips were excellent as was the homemade ice cream. The only reason I don't give 5 stars, is because they have a push button machine for making hot drinks. I would not want to drink ready made machine coffee or tea where the water comes from a coffee
Lucky to get a table at the start of a busy Sunday lunchtime. Smashing friendly staff, super-fast arrival of tasty carvery (beef or turkey with roast and boiled tatties, stuffing, gravy, Yorks pud and a dish of 4 veg). Also somehow managed choc fudge cake with local Tucker's ice cream and coffee. Re
Great food & lots of it! Very friendly & prompt service. One of the nicest meals we have ever had. Would highly recommended.
We had a really delicious hearty meal here at this cosy but stylish pub. The best chips I've ever eaten! My kids loved their food so much they had a second round! We were staying at the nearby qhotel which was supposed to be child friendly but the evening menu for children was not appealing to littl
A first time visit on Saturday night. The pub looks quite small from the outside but when you enter it`s like the tardis with plenty of space and tables. I had the creamy garlic mushroom starter which was superb, very tasty and well presented, my wife had the plaice special for her main course, she
Brilliant the food was lovely, sunday lunch all cooked perfectly, i asked if the meat was local and was assured it is. I had brandy and ginger ice cream for dessert it was amazing, staff lovely and very fairly priced
Very friendly staff, good beer & food. They serve the biggest portion of fish & chips I've ever seen!
What a superb little gem. Food was superb, staff was friendly, and establishment spotless. So much better than any corporate. Go enjoy while you can. We need to support private run places like this.
The food was excellent. Fresh veg. Not all of it was frozen . Which made the vegetables a lot more tasty. Thank you to the head chef for a lovely meal.
Lovely food, service in a relaxing atmosphere and the beer is good so my husband says. Would recommend and will return.
