After a bad experience a few years ago I vowed to never go back, however after being told that the new staff had really changed the place and the food I agreed to go again. The staff are warm and friendly, the pub is spotless, and the food was gorgeous, will definitely go again and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The landlords and staff went above and beyond for us this weekend. With excellent reviews by word of mouth we chose the Illchester to host our sons christening after party. With good (ish) weather the outside beer garden was sectioned off for us and our guests with an outside bar that was constantly maned all day and evening a buffet was put on for the day and my goodness it was good our friends and family are still talking about how great the food and the service was! So a huge thank you to will and holly and your amazing staff will will be back and most definitely be keeping you in mind for future events. Thanks again x

Went here for Sunday Lunch and it is the best roast dinner I've had in a long long time. I had Pork Belly which just melted in the mouth and the wife had beef which was equally as tasty. Amazing potatoes and great choice of veg served with it along with generous portions and homemade yorkshire puds. Will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone.

Popped in on a Monday evening to find lovely little gem of a pub. Bags of character and a lovely open fire to warm us up. Great food, friendly staff and a large selection of beers. Will definitely be returning in the near future. Thanks again.

Lovely place to eat, great food good prices. The staff were lovely. We had scampi and chips, chicken with season vegetables would definitely recommend. Cheese board bigger than expected with a good selection 👌 Was great to see gluten free options on the menu too.

We had fabulous four dishes that were well appointed and delicious. The salad came straight from the on-premise garden and it was fantastic. Service was professional and friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming and upbeat. I highly recommend and am looking forward to returning for more wonderful food at the Ilchester Arms!

The typical pub restaurant. Very nice interior, the usual light shabbyness which adds a level of cozyness. Nice people around, good beer and cider. The food was great. Especially the starter with grilled mushrooms and cheese was excellent. And don't forget to look at the picture which shows all pupils of a 1960 school.

What a find... the perfect country pub with an authentic country pub ambience serving the most delicious locally sourced food. Our table of nine were made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff. Most of the main courses were offered as small or large portions... I ordered a large burger and it was more than enough! We all left very full and very happy! This is a little gem that is well worth a visit.

First time visiting this lovely little pub. A nice quaint place, sitting outside, next to the road. Very dog friendly too, inside and out. Nice variety of Ales and lagers, served kindly by the staff. Managed to sample the food too, Scampi and chips served with salad and homemade tartar sauce. Small was more than enough fir my partner. I had the burger 🍔, and what red blooded male doesn't have the 8 oz and not the 4 with bacon and cheese too? Must say it was the tastiest burger I've probably ever had, however, royally stuffed by burger alone. Chunky chips, homemade coleslaw and salad topped it off. Why do I never take a photo, to add to these reviews? Please take a trip out, you won't be dissapointed. To the owners and staff, thank you, we will be back.

A very exquisite thatched roof public house. Menu small but reasonable dishes to suit all. Enjoy the wonderful beer garden with a tipple of your fancy. Go on.....give it a go.

The food looked excellent on its way out to the tables. Unfortunately, we have not tried it yet. Beer and the wine hit the spot.

We've visited this pub when in the area, on and off for over 30 years. Good atmosphere, good food and service. A minute's drive off the A35, and yet calm and relaxing.

Had a lovely meal here. Read the reviews prior and didn't know what to expect. Warm and friendly welcome which was natural, no heirs and graces. We had two meals from the special menu.. best meal we've had in a while.. Very pleased and had a decent pint of bitter too. If we're in the area will visit again

It's nice to visit and have a pint, even if they haven't got your favourite drink. But overall very good.

Treated to a nice birthday meal here. Lovely food and friendly staff. Not usually a desert man but the apple crumble was the best I've ever had.
