Not sure how it happed but I thought I gave a review of the Naked Fish a month ago. Since then I found it was posted to a different fish shop. Sorry about that. Naked Fish has some great food. We enjoyed our meal and getting to know the staff. Very friendly and delicious fish and especially the chips. Those were the best I’ve had in England. Keep up the good work. The dining area overlooks the harbor.
Pretty perfect fish and chips, gravy you can stand a fork up in, every chip perfectly crispy, great haddock and batter, amazing!
If you're eating in rather than takeaway the decor and facilities are basic but clean, and the view is nice too if you're by the window.
Partner and I went yesterday for an early lunch and shared the seabass and were so impressed with the food and service we ended up going back again later for dinner- great place, best chips i’ve had at a chippy. Sea trout and haddock we had were fantastic- thin, crispy batter thats not greasy.
Definitely recommend.

Really excellent fish and chips, probably the best chips I’ve ever had in a chippy. Mushy peas and curry sauce both very tasty. Portions really generous and great value for money. Was also a good place to sit and eat in with our toddler, including having some high chairs. Friendly, helpful staff.
Went to this award winning fish and chip shop and wasn't disappointed with the food. Freshly cooked in beef dripping with really crispy chips and fish. Locally grown potatoes used. Just the venue let's it down a little. Great knowledgeable staff.
Lovely small haddock and chips for 2 £15. Bargain and cooked to perfection and ate in at that. Also dog friendly and nice and clean. thank you 👍
We live naked fish, fresh cooked tasty fish. Has a few small tables for eating inside and some nice views over the harbour. Either come in for take away, or for dine in, it’s our regular place and very tasty.
Great fish & Chips shop which is so much better than those near the arcade. We had haddock, cod and monkfish and they were all crispy and not greasy at all. The staff are friendly and nice.
The staff are lovely and can't do enough for you.
The food was good ,The fish was not the best but not the worst I've eaten.
Also the tables needed wiping down as were sticky and abit grubby.
But all in all a good place to go for fish n chips.
Really good fish and chips, some of the best I've had along the coast! Fish was cooked beautifully and the chips had a slight crispness to them. The gravy was as thick as custard but delicious too! Decent value for money, we only got the regular size but it was plenty. Heard lots of other satisfied customers while we were in there too. The dine in section is mainly benches with the odd table and has typical coastal decor, although the wall of fish is pretty cool and if you get a table right at the back then you also get nice sea/harbour views. Staff were all friendly and helpful too
Chips lovely but the curry sauce is outstanding. Best curry from a chip shop I've ever had. Staff super friendly too. Keep up the high standards lads
This was our 2nd visit today and again we were not disappointed. The fish and chips are the best and the curry sauce to die for. We had a slight issue with our order which was as much my fault as theirs but it was resolved without hesitation and the young girl could not do enough for us. Bravo. Places like this will keep us coming to Bridlington.
Food was amazing and the staff were funny and made the visit enjoyable the portions were massive and the fish wasn't to battery which is always good. On top of that there is loads of options not just fish and chips like bridlingtons famous lobster. Amazing food, recommend to anyone in the area, would definitely come again.
Just had lovely Haddock chips & curry sauce, very tasty.
Service:
We were greeted by a chap named Russell when we came in, he was friendly and energetic. I had a question about the available fish which he was able to answer very quickly and clearly. He seemed more than happy to take a moment to help and was very professional.
We were served by a young lad who took our order. He was friendly enough but a little quiet and reserved. However he was also clearly new. I'd never mark down service when someone was obviously new to a job or in training. He was smartly dressed and did his best which is all anyone could ask for. Zero complains there!
Food/Drink:
One slight complaint would be the drinks menu is rather limited. My Scottish companion was disappointed at the lack of Iron Bru and I would of liked more options in the way of juices or other healthy options.
The food was lovely, we had ordered both fish and sausage so we could sample both and both were excellent. The chips were great too! I would have liked a side of garden peas but only mushy peas were an option (eww) in the end I got curry sauce which was nice. The portion sizes felt about right for average hunger, offering a large fish and decent number of chips (two Jumbo sausages for adult portion) but if you were really, really hungry it wouldn't be enough. We ordered the regular portion, there was a size above this but I did feel that was rather expensive, although as we didn't see the actual size we can't comment on it's value.
Prices:
Following on from what was just said, we felt the prices competitive and about what I would expect for fish, The adult sausage order actually being very good value for money. Drinks were one pound for cans of pop which is in line with basically everywhere else.
General positives and negatives:
Despite being at perhaps 70% capacity, it wasn't loud in there which was nice. It was easy to have quiet and pleasant conversation without feeling drowned out by other tables.
The area was very clean in the areas you'd expect but needs attention in the less obvious spots such as tops of skirting boards and wall art.
There's bits of broken boat on the walls! That's cool. The overall design choices inside where actually well thought out. The restaurant is full of character yet retained a mostly neutral overall pallet. Quite impressive.
Our one and only real complaint. :-(
Food is served on a plate topped with a piece of paper. I couldn't see exactly what it was but it looked like some sort of novelty print with the appearance of a news paper. I'm not sure what it was for, maybe to keep the food warm longer or protect the plate? It could be a purely aesthetic choice?
It was charming I suppose but the reality is, this sort of food is quite greasy as one might expect and we found the paper would break under the cutlery and then bits would to stick to our food which meant we didn't actually eat everything because of this. Next time we return we'll be insisting on no paper base on the plate as we felt that really did spoil it for us. It is for this and only this reason we rated food down from 5 stars to 4 as we didn't feel we could finish it despite wanting to.
In closing:
I think Naked Fish is a great place, it's great food, nice staff and overall a pleasant place to eat. We'll certainly be back even if a couple of small things where not exactly what we wanted, the rest more than makes up for it.
Big thank you to the staff.
Easily the best fish and chips I've ever had.
Love that they do a wide range of fish, rather than just the standard haddock and cod.
The curry sauce is really nice. Like proper curry.
The view of the harbour is great from the restaurant. I think I'll be visiting every time I'm in Brid from now on.
Tastiest fish and chips we’ve had in ages! The fish was well battered & cooked to perfection. Price was reasonable. Great harbour view from the restaurant at the back.
Only drawback was the lack of drink choices & the toilet area which could do with some TLC.
We had dressed crab and bridlington caught seabass with amazing chips, mushy peas, and a very welcome salad. The service was really friendly and the food delicious. So happy to be able to enjoy some locally caught fish from some people who clearly know what they're doing.
