This a superb pub restaurant, just a short distance from the M5 motorway, junction 24. It has some interesting decor, made up of new and old material, there is a large outside eating / drinking area, and overall it has a great atmosphere. The food was excellent, beautifully presented, and really good value for the money, although not cheap. I'd suggest that it's a location for adults rather than families, although I think they would be happy to accommodate larger groups. My partner visited the ladies loos, and was really impressed with the appearance and cleanliness. She also commented on the small supply of feminine products, which she highlighted is often very welcome. We enjoyed our visit tremendously and would certainly consider visiting on another occasion.

Starters were not great, nothing wrong with the taste at all but very average. We both really enjoyed our mains though. Mine was the best vegetarian pub burger I have had anywhere so am very pleased to finally find somewhere that actually fills that 'pub grub' craving profile perfectly which is often not the case with the vegetarian options, Places often mix things up trying to make it more interesting when you actually want normal pub food just with meat alternative! Will definitely be coming back for my meal again. My partner said his cod was great & both our chips were great, good chips in a pub is a must! The pub itself is a beautiful cosy building, lovely atmosphere & the staff were all really polite & friendly.

We were camping in the area and dropped in for a sunday roast. It was lovely, came out really quick - everything was hot and delicious. We enjoyed it so much we came back again during our stay. We had a mixed grill, steak, chicken burger and bacon burger. All delicious!

What a find. Called in on way to Cornwall as staying overnight at Premier Inn. Great atmosphere. brilliant service from Barman Ashleigh and Waitress Indie. Food was superb, also enjoyed 3 courses for under £15. Already booked for next week on way home to Wales. 👏👏

Wow. Fresh honest food at a really good price. Impeccable and friendly service, food arrived without delays. I went for the soup of the day, made with actual fresh tomatoes, really good. A classic burger, moist and tasty, served with hand cut chips. I travel for work and have dinner in pubs and similar establishments regularly. The Compass has served me the best pub dinner I had in ages. By far.

Lovely place just off the motorway. Nice to stop off on a journey that isn't a service station. Lovely food, lovely people. All reasonably priced. Definitely recommend!

Wow. A lovely little pub with amazing food and very large portions. It was quite busy when we went in and the lady behind the bar was busy but very friendly and efficient. Food was delicious and plentiful. Well worth a visit

My Mum and I went for Lunch Lovely food and great service. Very accommodating. The streak pie was too big for my elderly mother so she split the pie between us and cooked us extra veg, potatoes & gravy ….perfect. No food wasted. Thank you

Lovely pub & restaurant. Food was great and reasonably priced too. They were very busy on the night I visited, probably due to other pub nearby closing it's kitchen but the staff were doing a great job and the quality of the food didn't suffer. Will be recommending to colleagues.

We stopped here for a bite to eat on our way home from holiday when there was a lot of traffic on the M5 and we are so glad we did. The staff were extremely hospitable and the food was delicious and good value. We were pleased with the portions which were just right. Overall a very pleasant meal and we will definitely consider planning a stop there on the way home from future holidays to the south west. Much better than the nearby services!!

We phoned for a last-minute sunday lunch for 10 of us and sooo glad we did! The service was exceptional, the food was beautiful and nothing was too much trouble. The toilets were lovely and clean and very good price too! Will definitely choose here again in the future 🥰

Best steak & kidney pie I’ve ever tasted! Also this cosy, friendly and welcoming pub is an oasis in a desert of hideous chains, drive thrus & heavy traffic. Edit to say I also had the best full English brekkie ever the next morning! Price, service and efficiency absolutely perfect!

Had the most amazing meal here with family and friends. Best food I have eaten in 15yrs of living in Somerset. Absolutely piping hot cooked to perfection. No waiting time from arrival to ordering to eating. Staff went above and beyond. We even had room for desert. Which left us speechless. Can only say if you haven't been and tried this place you really need to book a table and enjoy.
