Came here on carnival night after feeling like we were never going to get food as everywhere was so busy. Found this place and luckily got a table. We were concerned that it might be a bit average as it was less busy but we couldn't have been more wrong. The food was served in good timing, nicely presented and the taste didn't disappoint either. Friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely revisit if in Bridgewater again.

Been in a few times for dinner, but went for breakfast today and it was fantastic. Service was friendly, food was excellent and great value for money. 4 times I've been in now and never had a bad meal... Highly recommend.

Visited two weeks ago , I am a vegetarian coeliac and have kind of given up on eating out.. but wow what a treat.. loads to choose from. Lovely guy serving us, nothing was a problem and I really enjoyed a fresh, hot and extremely tasty lasgena, salad , chips and the best garlic bread ever ! All veggie all gluten free, no hassle no being ill after, what a treat. Thankyou Thankyou. Two meals a glass of wine and a coke just over £20.. PERFECT! ☺☺ Can't wait to come back and try some of the puddings too. ☝

Unique and personalised experience in this restaurant. The portuguese owner made us feel at home at all times. Food was high quality and service very efficient. The sea bass was delicate and tasty. They gave us homemade bread with oil as a starter without asking for it. After a short conversation with the owner you can see he is a humble and hard-working man who cares about the details. My favourite place in Bridgwater from now on.

Had a fabulous meal here, the owners are friendly and the food is some of the best we’ve had recently. Service might not be the quickest, but honestly, I would always take genuinely freshly cooked food that takes a bit longer over ‘cooked in 10-minutes’ microwave food! We were also kept informed about any delays, which always counts for a lot. The steak was genuinely rare and seasoned perfectly. The various tapas were all delicious and clearly freshly prepared. We are 100% going to be back and would recommend it to anyone fancying something a bit above your pub grub! Thanks for a lovely meal.

I love eating at Alex's Steakhouse bar and grill at the great escape! Have been here many times with friends and nobody has ever had a poor word to say, its regarded as one of the best steaks anybody has had in their life. No doubt its the best steak in Bridgwater, probably Somerset. The value for money is unmatched anywhere I've been in the world, its Michelin quality for local pub prices!! And the service is so amazing as well, such a friendly environment, Alex is a lovely guy and I'm such a regular his wife makes sure she has a lemon mousse ready for when I finish my steak. 11/10!

Food and sevice were excellent. Decor was lovely but lacked atmosphere as only 2 other people in. We had a selection of tapas which was great. Definitely worth a visit. Only thing no artichokes on the menu.

Can't believe we've only just discovered this place! if you love good food, an interesting and exciting menu, friendly accommodating staff and a nice venue The Artichoke Gastropub is going to be right up your street. All of our food our party of 4 ordered was outstanding, but the Octopus (off the starter menu), Meatballs from the Tapas selection and the flat iron Steak were worthy of an extra sp3exisl mention, absolutely delicious. Can't wait for our next visit.
