Amazing place! Stunning food, happy staff. A little on the pricey side but worth it for the treat. I heard the car park is a nightmare but we went on a Friday night and had no issues.
It has been 4 years since I have been back to this place. Food was great. Had the meat sharing platter for starter followed by boar and chorizo pie and fished off with a lemon cheesecake. Wife had brie, cranberry and mushroom Wellington then cremebrulee.
The food was very nice and showered the staff.
By far the best the Star has been for food over the last 10 years. Honestly no comparison between current and previous owners for food quality. Excellent head chef and not just "pub grub" meals/quality. Very good variety of food and excellent service.
Exceptional. Everyone in our party agreed it was up there with the best meals we have ever had. The service was amazing as well. Would highly recommend.
Booked on a whim, and we’re very glad we did! The food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. They were more than happy to help with adjustments to our meals. Even better to know we can bring our dog next time!

Menu good and quality of food was as hoped for, the curry was plentiful and great, as was the fish and chips !
A varied menu with a good pie selection, seasonal specials and traditional favourites. Good portions and good value. Service is friendly and helpful. Recommended for a relaxed meal in traditional surroundings.

We had a group of about 14 people eat here. We pre-booked the table and food and it make it much easier and they printed out peoples selections as well. This made it every easy to handle. The food was brilliant and the service was fast. It has a cosy pub atmosphere, traditional decor and the price was reasonable. Overall a great experience.
Thursday evening and busy. Haven't been here for a while, as no public transport so it's a taxi but, I'm sure we shall return. Good selection from menu plus daily specials board. Food quality excellent with some nice interesting variations, and the prices fair. Three good ales on offer. Wine list limited but once again prices reasonable. Toilets clean and well serviced. Staff welcoming and friendly (especially Alex), service excellent.
Always a fabulous visit, food fantastic (cow pie is my very own favourite). The menu isn't a big one, however there is a selection for each dish eg burger, fish, pie ect. The establishment is clean and cosy, the staff are friendly and accomidating. Will return very soon.
Had a meal here for my Mum's 60th - the food was lovely and the staff were great.
We had a meal with 11 people. The food was lovely and the service was great. When we go back that way we will certainly be returning.
Welcoming and accommodating staff. Delicious food! Even the salad and the dressing were amazing! Will definitely be coming back here again. I hadn't heard of it before but it changed hands recently and is now open and definitely worth a visit!
Deliciously cooked food and a nice Saturday afternoon atmosphere.
Visited for a small family get together, experienced very pleasant service and attentive staff. Food was cooked very well and presented even better. One downside is that once we've finished our mains we did have to wait quite a while for the waitress to come back with our desserts - understandably so, as the inn had gotten very busy all of a sudden.
Will come back again for sure!
Popped in for a pub lunch, staff were friendly, we had the pie, real pie in pastry, not the puff lid on a pot.
